When putting filters in masks, does it matter which way they are arranged? P2 consists of particles or small components. What does the 5 mark mean? Does it mean to face you or something else?

Do these need to go in the mask one way or the other? Does it make a difference if the letters face away or if they are easy to read?
Based on what I've learned from the mask that came with it and from other people, I think it should face out, as Rebecca suggested.

It is useless for masks that haven't been sealed

The filter makes it nearly impossible to inhale air through it, so I tried to breathe through one of these. In view of this, air will never go through this filter it will go round it, since it always follows the path of least resistance. Using one of these under a cloth mask won't help if you're using a cloth mask.
