This is what I wear in case I might fall (I am a bit over 60 years old) and it is quite comfortable and provides all the safety The shoes have prevented me from getting scratches even after I've fallen several times with them. There is only one On hot days in 90+ degree weather, I do sometimes develop heat rash on my arms when I go on a 3 hour all out ride, but I am not sure what would prevent it. The bike shorts I bought are good quality lightweight sleeves and knee pads. I also purchased complete sets of elbow and knee sleeves. Having tried all the other Gforms, this one is my favorite (and it is the most recent).
The reason I bought these was to replace a beefier, but hotter and more uncomfortable pair from another brand. I have suffered two crashes wearing them, and they both kept me safe. It didn't feel like a thing at all. I've been wearing both the knee and elbow guards all summer because they are super comfortable as well as breathable. The air here is very fresh, so I may be a bit hot, but they Trying harder trails has proved to be a challenge, and these are the first pads I have found that are comfortable enough to wear all day. After washing them in the shower, I allow them to dry on a rack.
Move up a size, and you'll fit like a glove. Those who wear a medium will be able to wear them perfectly. Make sure you get the Large because it will fit perfectly.
It's easy for me sometimes to forget to wear them. Fighting right and not slipping down at all is their main goal. A definite worth it for a knee pad that is not bulky.
