Doesn't just dive into the first toe, but also into the second. My splint did not work at all for me. In both situations, I tried it with a sock over it as instructed (awake and in bed). received a better result from Yoga Toes than from these exercises. Moreover, the splint part is too long, so that when the velcro is tightened to allow the big toe to point out even more, the bottom of the splint digs into the second toe, causing a lot of pain for the patient. Perhaps if the splint was shorter as opposed to going all the way down to the bottom of the big toe, it would be more comfortable to wear. In its current form, I find it to be a waste of money.

I have the beginnings of a hallux valgus, so I am hoping that this splint will prevent it from progressing. I am surprised at how short the strap is. Although it feels good around my toe, I am surprised by how short the strap is. As a woman, I admit that I may have the feet of Fred Flintstone at a size 9 or There's no way a guy with average to large feet will be able to use this device right out of the package since this is a one size fits all device. I am fortunate that my techy husband keeps a stash of velcro around the house, making the item functional.
