Belts, knee wraps, elbow wraps, and wrist wraps are all designed with a specific purpose in mind. These are areas of the body that are subjected to a great deal of stress and strain, so don't think that by wearing them, you're displaying signs of weakness to others. Weight training is a long-term activity, so take precautions early on if you want to stick with it. I've tried other types of elbow sleeves and wraps, but these are by far the best. The design and quality are unrivaled. Don't be hesitant to give them a shot, and remember to train safely and forever.
I bashed my elbow, not sure how, but it was severely restricting my entire arm's movement. As if my elbow had been bruised, I could feel the point of impact. There was no swelling or even a visible bruise, but something had been injured. I had the impression that I was constantly re-inventing myself. I bought these sleeves in small (I'm a 5'5" 112lb woman) and doubled them up for extra protection after injuring it without protection and some restriction of movement for a while. I also bought a sling to limit my movement, but the sleeves were the most effective. I have a dr. appt. set up, but I don't think it'll be necessary because the rate of healing has accelerated so much. It really works.
My arm fit perfectly in it. I couldn't decide between small and medium, so I chose small. However, I had hoped for a little more elbow compression. Just at the joint, it was still a tad too loose. So, before any strength training workouts, I still wrap my elbow. br>If you're looking for light to medium compression, this will suffice.
So, I left my house yesterday to work in my garage. Well, I had a serious ice build-up on my hands. on the stoop of my stoop, on my sidewalk I had lost my footing. Fortunately, I was able to grab a portion of my gate with the arm I was wearing my sleeve on. I badly strained my elbow. I expected the discomfort to last several days. It was protected by this sleeve, and there was no pain at all today. I'd be in a lot of pain right now if it hadn't been for this sleeve. I've been wearing sleeves for work and the gym for about 5 years now, and they've long since worn out, which is why I purchased this pair. Yesterday's event could have gone badly for me; I could have fallen and been seriously injured. The stoop and sidewalk are made of cement. My elbow was spared because of the sleeve. It was a wise investment. Purchase these and consider them a health investment.
As a result of my weight lifting, I have a severe strain/tennis elbow. I used to wear a thicker brace, but it was uncomfortable. This one has just the right amount of compression and support, and I've noticed that it helps to relieve pain and strain while working out - I'm seeing some progress with my injury, but I'm not a big guy, so finding one that fit was difficult - This one, on the other hand, appears to be a good match.
I broke my elbow and had to have it rebuilt five years later after a bone cracked during the repair, necessitating the use of plates and screws. So it's better than before, but it still hurts now that I'm back in the gym. (It's difficult to do pushups!) ) My doctor advised that I get something to help stabilize it during workouts, so I looked for something and found this, which appears to be effective. It's a little tight to put on, but I imagine it wouldn't support you as well if it were loose! I don't leave it on for very long after a workout because it's too tight, but it's a great thing to have while exercising!.
Overall, this product appears to be quite good. I've only worn one a couple of times so far, but it's been great. Because I am petite, my arm isn't very long, so I have to fold it in half to make it shorter and tighter, which seems to work just fine. It's also worth noting that the fabric is soft. This one does not itch! I have another compression band from another company that is about 3 inches wide, and I like this one for when I don't need as much compression.
I'm a strength athlete. I couldn't go to the gym because of pain in my elbow and forearm. The compression sleeve, which I wear all day and remove at night, has significantly reduced my pain and improved the functionality of my forearms and elbows. With the sleeve, I'm able to do heavy lifting that I couldn't do before. As my forearm and elbow heal, my goal is to keep lifting heavy with the sleeve. Hopefully, this will lead to full healing and the removal of the sleeve, allowing me to resume normal activities. I washed the sleeves in cold water in the washing machine. The fit and compression are excellent, but the fabric is prone to lint balls, which I snip away with a small pair of scissors.
