It's hard to find anything bad to say You can cut with it very precisely. I can't fathom why someone would want to cut a cigar in half with it, but it will cut more than adequately into a 60 ring cigar (one reviewer complained that it the can't cut a 60 in half). A solid construction job seems to have been done. It didn't occur to me until after I bought it that the black part is plastic, but I am glad I discovered it now. I anticipate that the matte black metal of my two Xikar V cutters will wear better than the black plastic. I make great cuts on my cigars with it. My only use for it is when I'm smoking my big 60 ring cigars and when I'm smoking anything pointed A V cutter is what I use to cut my 50-gauge tubing I decided to go with 54 bulls, and a 7mm punch for a quick four-rounder. Definitely one of the best cutters in its class. With my old one, I used finger and thumb to operate it. As I was crushing my cigars, I began laughing. I thought I would try this Xi2 cutter since "not good" was my first impression. A Xikar lighter is already in my possession. A little BAM and you're good to go. So far I have been very satisfied with this cutter, which I purchased to replace a cheap cutter I purchased when I got interested in cigars. My initial reaction was to worry that this cutter would also be poor quality because it is less expensive than the more expensive Xikar cutters, but after using this cutter, I feel relieved. A very sharp blade and smooth operation make it a pleasure to use. Initially, I was more concerned about the texture of this cutter than with a more expensive Xikar. After removing the cutter from the box and using it for a few minutes, I found that it has a very solid and smooth texture. In case you are looking for cutting tools by Xikar but are not interested in paying the higher price for some of their more expensive cutters, this is definitely a great compromise.

Many (including me) would argue that Xikar products are pricey. However, I feel that I'm getting a lot of value for my money here. The company stands behind its products with a lifetime warranty, which speaks to the quality of the products, as well as giving customers peace of mind. This cutter, along with two Xikar cigar torch lighters, a pipe lighter, and another similar cutter are among the gear I am reviewing. As a customer, I would not keep buying products from Xikar if I were unhappy with them.
