Selected User Reviews For Smart House Inc Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit -(30-Feet) Innovative Lint Remover Reusable Strong Nylon| Flexible Lint Brush with Drill Attachment for Faster Cleaning

Using common sense will help you get great results! As a result of the paid nature of most reviews these days (which this is not) or the fact that most are fake (this is not), I rarely write reviews anymore
4/5

In any case. My family member recently suffered a home fire caused by dryer lint, which prompts me to write this review. fine, thank goodness, but there are thousands of dollars worth of damage, and the stress is relentless. My perception of this matter began to change as I became aware of the gravity of the situation. I did not need to clean the tube leading to the outside of the dryer as the dryer hose was attached to an outside wall. I occasionally had to disconnect the dryer hose and dust the 8 inch tube. Easy as pie. Fast forward to my newly built house I just moved into about a year and a half ago. When I was building it, I took a picture of the dryer vent, because I had no doubt I would need to clean it off in the future I hate it! About 115 degrees turn is needed in the dryer vent pipe at the 10 foot mark. The vent pipe is approximately 25 feet long in total. We have been noticing chunks of dryer lint outside our house and some of it coming out of the roof vent for about 3 months now. To blow out the dryer lint the leaf blower was put into the dryer lint pipe from the inside and we put a towel around it for air leaks, and kept it running for maybe two minutes, watching some chunks fly out It bothered me that the lint was still caught on the side walls, but I was just pleased to eliminate a portion of lint and keep the air flowing to prevent a fire. I started looking for companies that clean these vents online. A vent can cost between $150 and $250 depending on its length. Thanks for letting me know! A quick internet search led me to these flexible vent cleaning kits for DIY. Reading tons of reviews and putting them through the scam review programs is what I did. I think this one turned out quite well. Because it was a long ladder, I took a chance and purchased a 30 foot kit, so that it would reach the roof completely. It was too tight to maneuver the dryer, so we disconnected the hose and shifted the dryer toward the stairwell. During your trip you'll need the following You will need a drill, some pliers (since the connections get really tight during use). I read that if you do something wrong, the fittings can disconnect and get stuck in the pipe, so we wrapped duct tape around each fitting as a safety measure. We slowly sent up 1 section at a time until it felt like it hit the roof (the advancement stopped). I made it to the top by going through 19 sections. You must consider the direction of a drill when determining its direction it's the direction in which rods are tightened. It is important to only use ONE direction for the entire time that the drill is in the vent pipe. If it is used in the opposite direction, brush sections and sections will become disconnected and jammed. As the connections tighten so much, you need the pliers to separate them if you do it correctly. We used tape as a precautionary measure, but if you do it right, you will not need it as the tape provides extra security. When we had reached the top, we spun it and started removing one section of connectors at a time, spinning in between each removal, until we had removed them all. We did not find a great deal of lint as you can see. Those are the lint particles that caked to the pipes when we had blown our vent out a few months earlier. This will be done at least once a year for me. An hour or so is needed to do this. Fortunately, I'm able to clean that pipe out easily and prevent a fire from occurring. After we finished removing the last section, we made sure the vent was clean again by using an outdoor blower. Some lint from the pipe walls had blown out that was loose but that the tool had not yet removed. In other words, that was just the last push of whatever was left. This was a long review, I hope I didn't bore you too much. The key is to drill in the direction that tightens the rods during the entire time the rods are in the vent- making sure to use the drill in the direction the rods are tightened. In my opinion, the only way your design might fail is if you drill the wrong way.

This is a great tool for maintenance, because it is The solution worked really well
4/5

The house was built in 2006, and we have an extremely long dryer vent pipe running from the center of the house to the outside of the house (about It was definitely the first time the pipe had been cleaned, and after 4 years we hadn't done it when we moved in. I got the 30' to be sure I could clean it all. I think it had never been done before. I was in a lot of pain. Maintenance cleaning is the purpose of this product. In order to get it all cleaned out, we used a shop vac and an auger, along with a few other cleaning tools. When you start the drill in reverse, you have made a critical error that effects the product. When you start the drill in forward, it works like a charm. That is not what you ought to do. The brush and a length of about 7 feet of rod got stuck inside the pipe under the house, so we had a lot of extra work to do. My product now needs to be stored, so now that I've finished, I'm having trouble unscrewing the pieces. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of this. However, other than that, I can't fault the product. Having less lint in my home means I won't have to worry about my house catching fire. I'm thankful.

The duct work is cleaned gently and thoroughly, even when it is flexible
5/5

I found this product to be very useful. My corrugated dryer vent line consists of a drier vent and an extension rod that must be 26' long to reach the whole I fed the brush through an extension rod until I reached the full length of the vent in my case. On the dryer side of the vent tube, I placed an electric leaf blower (which blows air out of the house in the same direction as the drier blows air). While the blower was running I took the brush and ran it with a drill in a back and forth motion about 32 in. or two extension rod lengths, from the outside to the other end of the vent. Next, I removed two more rods and repeated this procedure until I was able to pull out the brush. A pair of pliers to loosen the rods when separating would be effective in helping to loosen the extension rod when it self-tightens when in use. It gives peace of mind knowing that the brushes or rods won't come unattached or become stuck in the vents because the rods self tighten.

This product is amazing, I recommend it highly! Compared to competitors, this product is much better
5/5

I used this to clean out my dryer vent, and it worked great. My vent was full of wet lint that I picked up in 3 gallon plastic buckets. In the past, I had cleaned it with another product and it did not really garner much dirt. With this product, I was able to remove everything and my Dryer now doesn't light up its red exhaust In the middle of a cycle, I noticed a red light on where it said Dryer Vent, so I cleaned both sides of the 14' vents and filled 3 gallon bags with lint, most of it According to my observations, the competing product doesn't clean off lint stuck to the walls of the vent properly. The amount of lint I pulled out of the vent is unprecedented in my 30 years of vacuuming the.

It is 30 ft long and of According to the advertisement, it is 30 feet It is written on the box that the distance is 20 feet
5/5

I have 23 extensions that give me a total of 15 per extension. A total length of just over 30 feet with a 75" extension. It would be prudent for the seller to place a "30ft" sticker over the 20 on the box to avoid I purchased a couple of these for my dad for Christmas. They are very good quality, very strong, look like they will last a long time. Just don't lose the little end that goes into the drill box!.

Is what it is supposed to be! At first I was skeptical, but I decided to give it a try since I hadn't cleaned my dryer duct a little over a year after I bought my home and didn't want to be part of a We were pleasantly surprised to find that the product Once assembled, the rod is really easy to bend and does not seem likely to break
5/5

Even if each rod is bent individually, the rod does not seem highly flexible. The duct was much longer than I expected. I had to use all the rods except two to reach the end of it. There was a little sticking here and there so don't baby it too much or it might not advance or retract depending on how "curvy" your duct work is. I made sure not to twist in the opposite direction (left) so the rods wouldn't come undone. Ensure that your drill is charged because it takes a bit of power to twist that brush in there, but otherwise it's nothing to worry about. All in all, I highly recommend this product because it's made for the job it was designed for.
