Questions & Answers

Is this a brand-new recipe?

I'm not sure because I don't buy these products (I was trying to figure out if this one was worth it- nope- However, I wanted to clarify that this is NOT a 'chemical-free' product in the sense that most people think of the term. If you look at the ingredients, you'll notice that it's made up of unnatural, processed ingredients. Don't be fooled by the term "plant-based." If you want something that is chemical-free, look for Castile soap.

Is this, like the Medela soap, a "no scrub" formula?

I use it on all of my baby's items, including bottles, spoons, cups, and plates, among other things. I never have to scrub after using this product, and I highly recommend it.

Is it completely safe to use?

You'd have to look up all of the ingredients, but if you're looking for something non-toxic, go with pure unscented Castile soap. I say unscented because some people use essential oils for fragrance, which can be dangerous if ingested accidentally. If you don't mind that, go with a brand like Dr. Bronner's and choose any scent you like; however, be aware that Castile soap will burn your eyes if it gets into them because it contains no numbing agents or chemicals. br>br>Another possibility is African Black Soap. However, you must read and research the ingredients in every item/brand you consider to ensure that it meets your requirements. To be honest, I've looked at other Babyganics products (like sunscreen) and they appear to be a greenwashed brand that I wouldn't use because they don't contain natural or organic ingredients.

What is the best place to look for a date of expiration?

Each bottle has a printed batch number; provide this number to babyganics via their website's contact form to obtain the manufacture and expiration dates. It's a little tricky, but soap typically has a three-year shelf life because it contains moisturizing and essential oils. I'd give them a batch number and see what they came up with.

Is this toxin? Until my husband saw the word "METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE" in the ingredient list, I liked this product
3/5

It is highly poisonous. From a more reputable source: "This product contains METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, and according to the Environmental Working Group, almost 40% of the products we tested contained isothiazolinone preservatives, which can either trigger or exacerbate allergies. " Researchers and physicians from more than a dozen clinics have reported cases of severe skin allergies, as well as an increase in allergies to a specific type of isothiazolinone known as methylisothiazolinone, or MI, that has reached epidemic proportions. Recently, the European Union lowered the safety standard for these chemicals in rinse-aid. However, the United States has a ban on cosmetics. Despite the fact that hands and forearms are repeatedly exposed to these substances for long periods of time while washing dishes, there are no restrictions. Only a few products contain one of three preservative compounds that release formaldehyde when mixed with water.

On the product page, the list of ingredients is (intentionally? ) omitted
3/5

) wrong. I ordered it after double-checking the ingredients list on the page to make sure I was getting the new formula without methylisothiazolinone, as suggested by the top review. I purchased the three-bottle set that included methylisothiazolinone. Isn't that a little bit of a ruse? br>Now I just need to find the time to return it and place an order for a different brand.

It was not worth the money
3/5

I was on my way back. I debated whether or not to try this soap, and while it cleans well, I find that I use far too much of it to clean my dishes. However, I do have a family of seven, so perhaps I simply have too many dishes for this to be cost effective. The other issue I have with it is that it is extremely hard on my hands. Because of how drying this soap is, after only two days of use, my hands are extremely dry, cracked, and cut up. Until I used this soap, I didn't have any problems with my hands all winter.

CITRUS IS NOT TO BE PURCHASED
3/5

Until methylisothiazolinone is removed, only get the unscented version. Do not purchase the Citrus version; it is not the same as the non-citrus version. version that has been sentenced METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE is present in all citrus versions, which is prohibited or deemed unsafe for use in cosmetics in several countries. Check out the EWG's page on that ingredient to learn more. br>You can see it in the ingredients picture, but not in the unscented version. br>br>I'm going to return it and replace it with an unscented one, after which I'll update my review. It currently receives a one-star rating due to the presence of that chemical in a product designed for baby bottles, and lab studies, according to EGW, "suggest that methylisothiazolinone may be neurotoxic. " " On September 22, 2015,.

Unless you're willing to spend more than $10 on a single, non-essential item
4/5

Buy these if you're looking for a non-toxic dishwashing liquid. So, mommies, after some research, I've come to the following conclusion: If you want a good baby dish soap that cleans well, either spend more money on one that is made entirely of organic, non-toxic ingredients, or get these. Yes, there is metha in these. bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla In addition, babies do not put dish soap directly into their mouths. When I remember, I try to apply hand cream after washing the dishes. I personally believe it is absurd to pay 11,12 $ for a botte of dishsoap because it contains non-toxic chemicals. All of the other major brand dishsoaps contain ingredients that are "toxic. " Dr. Bronner is the only one I've found who appears to be non-violent. It's poisonous and costs ten dollars. So, mommies, the choice is yours!br>br>As for me, I'm going to use these until they're all gone. It cleans effectively, has no odor or residue, and the pump feature is simple to operate, among other things.

There will be no strange movies! So far, I've been very pleased
5/5

I noticed a gross sticky film adhering to all of our brand new, unused bottles and nipples after washing them with our Mrs. Meyer's dish soap, which works fine for our regular dishes. I knew it couldn't be milk fat because they hadn't been used yet, so it had to be hard water, soap, or a combination of both. I decided to order the unscented babyganics foaming soap after reading some reviews. It was able to remove the film from the nipples, as well as the silicone bottle caps and pacifiers that come with our Pura Kiki stainless steel bottles. With a little vinegar on a cotton ball and qtip, I was able to remove the remaining film from the nipples, followed by a quick rinse with water. At the very least, I'm relieved that this soap won't leave a new layer of film on my skin! My theory is that the other soap causes a strange calcium carbonate suspension in our extremely hard water, which is particularly drawn to the silicone. This does not appear to be a problem with the Babyganics soap for some reason. I also like that it's unscented, because strong scents can be overwhelming to young nervous systems, and bottle nipples and pacifiers often end up right next to their faces.

Amazing! I got this as part of the "Amazon Mom" deals, which meant I saved $3 on the three-pack
5/5

I was a little skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a shot. I'm completely smitten by this soap! br>br>I'm a pumping-pumping-pumping pumping-pumping-pumping-pumping-pumping- work mom. I had been using blue Dawn on my daughter's bottles and my pump parts, but they always reeked of it, and I'm sure it made the milk taste strange as well. When I used Dawn, it took a lot of elbow grease, scalding hot water, and a specific type of sponge (or an actual cloth) to completely clean the plastic and remove any greasy residue. I had the pieces soaking in hot (but not scalding) water when I used this stuff. The soap had gotten cold because it was on the sponge. Even though the temperatures dropped, it took almost no effort to get everything sparkling clean! There is a slight odor, but it is very subtle. I'm not as concerned about this having a long-term negative impact on my daughter as I was with the blue Dawn. I'm thinking of using it for some of my other dishes as well! br>br>You will need to re-squirt the rag or sponge from time to time; however, you should set the sponge aside rather than putting it in the water to extend the time between applications.
