It didn't quite work on my cast iron pan the way they advertised, I had to almost use it as a thick steel wool to get it in there, but once I did that it worked beautifully, no damage to the scrubber or my pan as long as you oil it afterwards. It won't completely clean your pans, so don't expect it to. It will make a big mess if you try. It should be treated as steel wool rather than similar products.
A very tiny Command hook is under the sink on the inside cabinet door that I stick it on once it is dry so the drying process is a breeze.
Compared to rock salt alone, this is much better. The cast iron coating you worked so hard to maintain will not be removed. There is no soap required. Just some warm water, rock salt, and a little rubbing with Keep things as simple as possible. You may use a small spatula with a square end to clean out tougher areas, followed by Using a paper towel, make sure the surface is dry before spraying the oil on. If the coating needs to be renewed, you might need to bake it in the oven for half an hour at 180.
Cast iron or any type of tri-metal should be cleaned with this method I love the chainmail scrubber made out of the clad pan. As far as replacement is concerned, since it is made from metal, I'm not sure if I'll have to replace it, unlike a standard scrubber sponge.
