This product contains animal (pig or cow) tallow (fat) as an integral part of its composition, for those of you who observe Kosher Laws. There is no residue left after cleaning baked in stains, even on white walls of tires, and the does remove grease without leaving behind sticky residue. Since it is made of steel wool components, it is not recommended to use this pad on surfaces where you do not want your pans to have small stains as a result of cleaning. (Nordic Ware specifically asks that you DO NOT use these pads when.
I've been using Brillo since I received my first car in 1960. I used it to clean the chrome bumpers, never scratched. When Brillo changed its soap's color to blue like SOS a few years ago, they were making a big mistake. They eventually went back to pink soap after they realized what they had done and people complained. Blue soap and a variety of steel wool make up SOS's scrubbing arsenal. It scratches very badly and takes a good bit of extra rinsing to remove the blue gummy soap. In comparison with SOS soap, Brillo's pink soap is like a cleaner with lube, it doesn't scratch when wet, and it is easy to rinse off after use and it isn't gummy. The Brillo product is still in use today and I use it for a lot more than pots and pans.
The world is a better place. Costs are outrageous, so that's not surprising.
Basically great for getting tough food out of pans without scratching, no matter how tough the food is.
There are so many things to choose from in terms of cooking pots and stoves.
It was excellent.
Exactly what I need.
Aside from the soap (the pink color, which was only on the border but not on the scrubbing surface of the gasket), all that was found on the surface was steel wool with rust prevention (a bluey black color). It didn't produce any soapy suds, so of course it didn't contain soap.
