I agree! There were a few things I had to do, the liquid I used works great too, but I just held the plugs in the holes and shaked continuously for a minute, yours is a minute. The results were satisfactory and there was little mess to clean up. It's nice that the bong brush has a triangular shape so that it can reach all the spots on the bong and does not cover anything that needs cleaning
Try to put these on upside down to block the holes if they are too big to fit through the hole.

This cap does not fit my 420 bong well - it's too large - It is not going to stay put on its own by suction. For my hand to stay in place, I needed to keep it over the thing.
