Questions & Answers

Is it common for them to arrive dripping wet and smelling like chemicals?

Mine were a little damp but didn't have a strong chemical odor. I believe they have a solution to keep them from drying out and looking strange; it washes out after the first use and rehydrates and dries normally.

Is it possible to use the hard side on something that isn't a hard surface? What kind of surface do you want to stick to?

On my all-clad nonstick skillets, I use the abrasive side with no ill effects (though I'm not sure if all-clad would recommend it). Nonstick cooking surfaces are nonstick in part due to their hardness compared to plain metal surfaces such as stainless steel, cast iron, or aluminum (or windshield glass). Using the more aggressive scotch whisky for an extended period of time is not recommended. Although brite pads may end up buffing down nonstick cookware, this is not something that should be done very often unless the nonstick surfaces are already compromised and in need of replacement.

Is it true that these aren't abrasive?

Which side you use makes a difference. Everything can be cleaned with the yellow sponge side. The green side is definitely abrasive; I used it to clean my bathroom sink by accident, and it stripped the finish right off. It's lost its lustre now. br>br>So, if you're worried, I'd recommend going with the green side on a non-stick surface. inconvenient location Observe the outcome.

What happened to the "Rescue" pads, which were 2x3 inches in size? about half the size of those on the market now?

Product deception is the name of the game here
3/5

I was under the impression that I was purchasing square sponges. They are being sold as square sponges in the photo. They're sponges with a curved shape. Horrible. They can't clean up spills on the counter, and they're awkward to handle and use for pot cleaning. This is a terrible offer. Very let down. Once again, it's a bait-and-switch tactic.

It was once great - That is no longer the case
3/5

Since I purchased my last batch, there have been a few unwelcome changes. Consider the following scenario:
- Previously, the yellow sponge material was stiffer. It now feels worn out the moment you put it on.
- The yellow sponge portion is now much thinner than it was previously.
- The Scotch-Irish Because the Brite layer is only half as thick as before, it is quickly worn out.
- Even after several uses, your suds have a disturbing bright yellow dye in them. When the old ones were used for the first time, they only released a small amount of dye, and then there was no visible dye after that. br>br>I had one last unused "old style" sponge on hand to compare these to. Both sponges were used for the first time in the photos accompanying this review. For the appearance comparison, they were both rinsed and wrung out before being suds-upped and squeezed out onto a white plate. Even if I had never used these before, the dye issue would be enough to keep me away from them, at least for dishes. For scrubbing sinks, these are probably still fine. That is, assuming the sink is already yellow or will be yellow in the future.

NOT WRAPPED PERSONALLY
3/5

There are reviews for multiple versions of this item on this page. This is what I'm looking at right now: Scotch- Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponges provide powerful scrubbing for stuck-on dirt and grime. 6 Scrub Sponges on the Messes br>br>I'm used to sponges that are rectangular. But, in these desperate times, desperate measures must be taken, so I ordered these with curved sides. They work well and are of good quality. I was not bothered by the curved sides. I was bothered by the following: There is no way to wrap them individually! So, what should I do with the other five sponges to keep them clean until I'm ready to use them? I'm not sure where I'll store them. Not only that, but sponges always seem to have a teeny bit of moisture (and chemicals) in them when they arrive. So, how will they fare if they sit like this for weeks or months before I need them? No clue. As a result, two stars have been awarded.

To me, it appears to be genuine Scotch Brite
5/5

They were delivered in what appeared to be a genuine Scotch Brite package, complete with the Scotch Brite logo. All of the sponges appeared to be genuine Scotch Brite heavy-duty scrub sponges, which I am familiar with. I didn't detect anything unusual about their odor. They were, as expected, soft (sponge) on one side (yellow) and rough (scrub) on the other (green). br>br>The sponges performed as expected, with both sides proving to be extremely durable, even when subjected to vigorous scrubbing. When using the green scrub end, use caution. They're about as tough as a sponge/scrub combination gets. The rough side is as rough as it gets, and it works wonders on burnt-on food in oven pans. on gunk. This is what I use to clean the burnt enamel on my stove, but I have to be careful not to scratch it. I use light pressure, soap, and water to achieve excellent results. br>br>On non-slip surfaces, you should avoid using the rough surface. Because it will scratch the surface of nonstick/coated pans, this is a bad idea. On some counter surfaces, such as plastic laminate (Formica/Wilsonart/etc. ), you'll want to be extra cautious. ) because overzealous scrubbing with the green side will result in scratching and finish removal. Scrubbing butcher block, for example, can distort the surface grain and make it rougher. Scratches will appear on stainless steel with an obvious brushed finish, as well as on enamel, if you scrub too hard. They should work well for scrubbing shower tiles and tile floors. br>br> Even natural stone, such as granite, marble, and slate, can be used. Because Corian is sanded to a micro finish, I would be cautious when using acrylic surfaces like Corian because the rough side may leave visible scratches. br>br>Kitchen cabinets made of wood, plastic laminate, or low-pressure laminate (melamines/thermofoils) may be scratched by the green side; metal cabinets, such as those found in a garage or on a deck or outdoor kitchen, should withstand the scrub side better, but may still scratch paint or brushed stainless steel finishes. br>br>In general, these scrub sponges are excellent for the job. They're probably overkill for most domestic applications and might be better suited to industrial ones. You should be fine if you use them with caution on certain surfaces.

Isn't it true that the new shape isn't suitable for people who are left-handed? Clearly, they (corporations) make changes to lower production costs rather than improve product quality
3/5

When reading the reviews, you'll notice that the thickness has been reduced. I was perplexed as to why the new shape had appeared. When you fold a sponge over the edge of a plate or bowl, or wrap a sponge around a knife or fork with the pad facing the item to be cleaned or washed, a right-handed person's thumb naturally sits in the circular area. Allows you to apply pressure where it is required. So, while the shape is a little silly, it does have some utility in terms of cost savings and consumer reasoning. Are you a left-handed person? Not in the least. Their thumb is naturally positioned in an empty space. As a result, 3M and scotch-bourbon are a match made in heaven. Brite changed their product to one that didn't consider or care about left-handed people. br>br>Beware of the Fifties. br>br>I'm a right-handed person, by the way.

Scott Brite Sponges, on the other hand, could not live without them
5/5

At my house, these Scott Brite sponges are a must-have. They do an excellent job of removing difficult-to-remove items from my pots and pans, such as burned-on food. Every week, I switch to a new one to keep germs at bay. I clean my car and motorcycle with the old one. Scrubs tar and bugs from bumpers, rims, and even windshields of automobiles. These should not be used on a motorcycle windshield because they are typically made of plexiglass and will scratch. These sponges can clean a lot of things, and I go through them quickly, so I order them every three months.
