A stain was on my car seat and I purchased this to remove it. Although it did a good job of getting the stain out, when it dried, it left a ring around the area containing the stain. Consequently, I had to clean the entire seat in order to remove the ring, thus wasting a lot of the product. I used the same product to clean my patio cushions, however the spots did not get cleaned, and I once again had the ring around the area While I have not yet used it on carpet, this has been a disappointment so far. The solution has not ruined anything, but either it hasn't cleaned very well or it has far too much liquid to complete the task. This is a 2 on my scale. If I could, I would give it a 5 because I believe that is the best it can get. Sometimes it works but not all the time. If you are cleaning an expensive item, use this product with caution.

The stains have started to appear over the last two years. There have been many cleaners I've tried, this is the last one before they are reupholstered In the end, I received this product (packaging problems) and I am not disappointed at all. I have used this for many years and it has always been wonderful. We started with a stain and worked on everything right away. My only complaint about the product was the smell, but I still think it was worth it because it was wonderful. The item was no longer available in stores and could only be found Even though the packaging had been updated, it was the same product according to the labels, It did nothing for me today when I used it for the first time. Like water from a spray bottle, it was as if it were a liquid. What I am using now is completely different from what As soon as I opened this new bottle and took a whiff, there was no scent. To clean the couch, I sprayed thoroughly and then used old towels to wipe it down. As I watched the towel come off the grime, I saw it begin to peel off. I did struggle with it being stiff and stinky at first, but a few sprays of Fabreeze got rid of all of it! As a result, I have put it into a closet and plan to spray down the remaining upholstery in the near future. When it dries, it has a funky smell, but it does wear off quickly if you spray fabreeze on it. If it doesn't bother you, it can be quickly eliminated with a few sprays of air freshener.
