The smoke detectors we have won't fit this device. The height is around the same as "normal" 9V batteries, but the width is a bit larger and the thickness is a bit thicker. Can you explain? It was sent back, no idea what it was for.

Like any other generic 9 volt alkaline battery, these take the same type of charge. As such, I haven't tested the ones I got since I don't feel compelled to. As soon as I can tell, I will update my review if I discover that they are short-lived. It seems that some products will only fit Duracell batteries, as their batteries are smaller than all the others. Update Purchasing batteries for my entire hotel was a wise decision. It took 6 months for a battery to die. There has been no resolution to my problem. It was a waste of money.
