Selected User Reviews For ML55-12 - 12V 55AH SLA Battery - Mighty Max Battery Brand Product, Black
On a sea ghost kayak, I use this battery to power a 35-pound trolling motor. It's great; I usually run it nonstop for 6 hours at all speeds and it never fails me. It does not leak if you lay it down sideways in the front of the kayak.
With a weight of only 36 pounds, these batteries are easy to transport without injuring myself. Because these batteries are sealed, I won't have to worry about them leaking on the floor's carpet. There are numerous positive online reviews for these batteries that date back several years, indicating that they have withstood the test of time.
I wasn't sure about this battery at first because the terminals were set back and you couldn't connect it with wing nuts. I bought a quick disconnect and bolted it on so I wouldn't have to worry about wing nuts, and the battery performs admirably; I've done several 6-hour runs with it. I've run 7-hour tournaments with my kayak's motor and it's never run out of power. I've even used it to troll for hybrids for hours at a time and it has never failed me. Every time I use it, I use a NOCO10 charger to ensure it's fully charged. I intend to purchase a second one for my John boat. 5stars!.
25 horsepower with this battery and a 55lb thrust EnduraMax 5 speed Minn Kota motor attached to a canoe. 5 - On a constant use basis, the battery lasts 2 hours. We usually run the motor on 4 or 5, and the battery life is excellent.
The battery is excellent, but due to shipping, you may receive a bent post. Also, the nuts and bolts that they send to attach to the post are of such poor quality that they tend to cross thread and bind, making it impossible to remove them. I had to drill mine out and purchase high-quality nuts and bolts as a result. I would have given five stars if it weren't for that.
For my kayak, I used it with my trolling motor. I'm good for about 6-hours. With this, I can work for 8 hours and still have 25 minutes to spare. charge left over by 50 percentage percentage per The only drawback is that it is fairly heavy, weighing in at around 35 pounds.
I'm hoping it lasts longer than my 35AH, which died due to its weight, which could be due to thicker plates. It's referred to as the SLA equivalent of AGM. With 13, it arrived in good condition. a charge of one volt I'd like a backup power source in the event of a power outage in Florida - CPAP and fans are both recommended. Although the price per amp hour isn't particularly low, moving it will not break your back.
I bought it to go with my 40-pound trolling motor. I'd only been out once, but I fished for 5 hours, moving around a lot and crossing the lake a couple of times (3/4 mile), and there was still plenty of juice left. It was about half-charged when I used it. For the majority of the day, we drove it at a slower speed.
