Questions & Answers

Will this work with the cp 1500avr (note the avr with no "r" after it)?

It says in the description to look at your serial number, which in my case starts with CPA and will work. The reason for this is that cyberpower cells are a 2B model, while this is a 2A. I'm guessing it's because of the connectors f connectors that work with this model. The 9 amp ones will work in this unit as well. I bought the NPP brand and after 22 months, I'm having to replace it. When I first turned it on, I got about two and a half hours back up, but now it only lasts about an hour. I'm looking into lithium ion batteries that will fit right now, but I need to check with the battery manufacturer to see if they'll charge properly with this unit and won't disconnect the internal protection on the lithium batteries 8 amp I'm looking into. They're supposed to last for 2010 years instead of 2 years and put power consistent out for 80% for 4 hours. Cyberpower does have another company starting to sell UPS systems

Two batteries are required for the CP1500PCFLCD, according to the manufacturer. Is there a second one in this cartridge? Is it necessary for me to order two? The desc. isn't it obvious?

The two batteries in mine were not fully connected when it arrived. The display simply blinked after installation (due to a dead battery). To make it work, I had to remove the batteries and then connect the two batteries together. The most vexing. However, it isn't blinking anymore. I'll charge the batteries for 24 hours before using my unit, which is a Model 1350VA, CP1350ARLCD, with a serial number that starts with CPKBX and was purchased from Costco six years ago. I'll be satisfied if the new battery lasts six years.

Is it better to connect the two batteries in parallel or in series?

These two batteries need to be connected in a series.

My CyberPower 1500AVR unit was a perfect match
5/5

Install time is ten minutes.   I was considering purchasing a replacement for my CyberPower 1500AVR backup unit and began comparing options when I came across these CyberPower replacement batteries! br>br>I double-checked the compatibility list and saw that my 1500AVR was listed, so I placed an order. They arrived today, so I decided to make a quick video showing how to change the batteries. These replacement batteries are an exact match for the ones I took out of my CyberPower Unit. Despite the fact that the company has replaced and discontinued my CyberPower 1500AVR. My unit was perfectly matched by the male and female connectors. br>br>The CyberPower RB1280X2A replacements were an exact match, and the connectors were ready to use. I was pleased to discover that the batteries were nearly 100% charged upon arrival and I am back in business without having to wait for them to charge- br>br>The original batteries lasted 6 years before they were no longer capable of sustaining a useful backup charge. The backup unit was emitting an overload alarm, which alerted me that the batteries or unit needed to be replaced. br>br>Five Stars for perfect compatibility, quality, and longevity in the past. Without hesitation, I recommend this replacement battery assembly.

Caution - It's possible that terminals won't work on your system - Check the Cyberpower website (not the UPS manual) for the replacement batt model
3/5

Updated on the 20th of August, 2018 After about 20 minutes on hold, I was able to speak with a live person at CyberPower Systems tech support. He confirmed that for several years, the CP1500PFCLCD UPS manual had the incorrect replacement battery model number citation (apparently, this has been corrected and is up to date on their website). He claims that they'll send me a return shipping label for this battery and replace it with the correct one (RB1280X2B). Rating has been updated to a neutral three stars. Although I cannot vouch for this battery because I am unable to use it, the company is resolving my issue by handling the replacement on their own, despite the fact that I purchased it on Amazon. If those transactions go through, I'll be able to return to my positive view of Cyberpower (I prefer their UPSs to most competitors' and have a fleet of them in service). Prior knowledge: br>br> According to the owner's manual for my CP1500PFCLCD UPS, I bought this exact model replacement battery. It is unusable because it has the incorrect terminals. CyberPower Systems' tech support is closed today, as it is Saturday. I've squandered a lot of time removing the system and the old UPS battery from an Equipment cabinet. Now I have to put everything back together, then spend more time next week figuring out how we're going to get this resolved. Not a happy camper, to say the least. Caveat Emptor is a phrase that means "be careful what you wish for. " Another nearby review of this unit claims that the manual contains a typo, resulting in the incorrect replacement battery being used. That's a bit of a gimmick. br>br>Recent changes - The instructions are included as a screenshot. This battery will not work with my UPS, at the very least. I hung up after 15 minutes on hold with the tech support number, which plays muzak. This item will not be returned to Amazon. Coincidentally, we've had some weather-related power outages this weekend, and this UPS, along with our internet, has completely failed due to its dead battery. Ugh.

Installing it isn't difficult, but there are a few things to keep in mind
5/5

First and foremost, please understand that, despite my age, I have always believed in do-it-yourself projects. As a result, I went into this battery swap with no trepidation. There was some wracking of the brains, so I'll share some thoughts. 1. br>br> Make sure you have the right UPS instructions and that the battery or battery pack you order is the right one. I ordered a battery pack for the unit I didn't get because the one Amazon sent me 7 years ago wasn't the model they sold me (CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD). Fortunately, the battery pack was the right one for both.
2. Get the battery pack with two batteries. You can save some money by purchasing two single batteries, but you will have to wire them together, which could be a hassle. The dual is already set up. Connectors are used to connect the wires.
3. To get the old battery pack out of the battery compartment, you'll have to pull pretty hard. Because of the tight fit, I ripped one of the thin plastic pull tabs.
4. The battery compartment was accessed from the front, with the panel held in place by a single small screw on the bottom. After removing the four screws that held the back panel in place and replacing it with difficulty, I discovered this.
4. If you need assistance, don't hesitate to call. The support staff is very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

$$$ (updated) to fit my AVR1500 My CyberPower AVR1500 UPS was able to use these
4/5

At half the cost of a new UPS, the price is a little steep. There appears to be a lot of price variation, and replacing the battery on my unit is simple. To remove the front, remove one screw from the bottom and slide it up. Remove the old battery by unplugging it and removing it from the socket. br>br>I put the front back on after installing the new battery and tested it. br>br>I had an overload error message and no output as a failure symptom. The battery had apparently degraded over time and had simply stopped working when it reached a low enough voltage. Because there was no warning of impending doom, I need to double-check that the USB connection to the computer is still active. This is something I use on my router and other network components, and it just stopped working. br>br>When I removed the battery, the voltage was only 9V. I tried charging the batteries with an external charger, but they wouldn't get up to 12V, so replacing the battery seemed like the best solution. I was worried that the UPS's charging system had failed, but I couldn't charge them outside the UPS, so I doubted that was the problem. br>br>About three years ago, I changed the battery. I used less expensive batteries and had to put them together into a unit before I could use them. This unit is ready to use right out of the box. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> FAIL! Both batteries failed today, only days after they turned two years old. The original batteries, as well as the first replacements, lasted for at least three years. These were expensive, but they didn't last long, so they weren't a good deal.
