If necessary, I combine Midol and ibuprofen. For lower back cramps, I've found that Midol is much more effective. It helps with uterine cramps as well.
It does not, in my opinion, reduce the number of days, but it does reduce the number of symptoms.

Every time I twist my knife, it hurts like hell. To be honest, nothing compares to Midol. Every month, I suffer from excruciating knife twisting pain, and I've tried everything I can to eliminate it. I walk three miles every day, practice yoga, dance, and lift weights, but nothing seems to help with the pain. I even stopped drinking coffee because it contains caffeine, which I needed to avoid for my thyroid. The pain, however, is too much for me to bear. For 9 months, I experimented with anti-spasmodic herbs, and it was a living hell. Because I couldn't get to the store, I was relieved when this arrived at my front door so quickly. My thyroid and adrenals will just have to deal with the caffeine; it's the only OTC that relieves my monthly headaches and the knife-like pain. I used to miss a lot of dance classes, but I no longer have to. Caffeine once or twice a month will have to suffice. Every month, this stuff improves my life. Thank you, Amazon, for providing such prompt service. This was a lifesaver for me because I was in excruciating pain and couldn't get to the store. Thank you very much.
Every month, I suffer from excruciatingly painful cramps. I finally decided to try medication (which I almost never do) and I'm so glad I did. This is effective in removing all of the discomfort. It used to take me days out when I was younger. For cramps, I've been on prescription painkillers, but I'd rather not take the stronger ones. I have to make sure I take the recommended dose on a regular basis, but the cramps are lessened if I do. If I take this before the cramping gets too bad, it helps to keep everything solid. It's midol, not a miracle, after all. But I'd rather have it than deal with whatever Mother Nature has in store for me.
If Midol didn't exist, I would never get out of bed on the first day of my period; cramps make me cry, but Midol relieves almost all of the pain, allowing me to function normally.
So, I just had a baby six months ago, but I was having perimenopausal symptoms before that. Migraines, especially around ovulation and period days, are common, as are ovulation pain, PMS, and fatigue. All of those symptoms have reappeared since the birth of the baby. Years ago, I tried Midol to relieve my cramps, but it was ineffective. Aleve was a lifesaver for me at the time (start taking it a day or two before your period). Anyway, the symptoms I had before my period have returned, and it's extremely difficult to care for a baby while suffering from a smoking headache. I used to take Zomig and Maxalt on a prescription, but this product has replaced them. It works so well, I can't believe it. My energy levels increase (caffeine), my pain decreases (acetaminophen), and my emotions improve (antihistamine) all within an hour. It sometimes leaves a metallic taste in my mouth, and the caffeine makes me feel a little "high," but holy smokes, this stuff is awesome, and it was right under my nose the whole time.
