To make it easier for me to keep track of my daily medications, I purchased these bags to separate them into two categories AM and PM. As a result, I wanted an easier method of controlling my pills after dropping or losing them when I used traditional pill trays. This is the best. I have the Silent Knight Pill Crusher as well, and I highly recommend both products for saving time and maintaining hygiene. The time saved, the convenience and the cleanliness are all worth every penny. An example of this is the use of this system in a hospital. After our grandson was discharged from the hospital and expected to recover at home for a long time, we received one from the hospital. Someone who prepares medications for someone with a stomach tube will find this to be a great investment. To reuse later, you can fold the plastic bags over with a piece of tape instead of preparing the medications. This is something I do often so that his medications are always on hand. A sharpie is what I use to write what's in the bag. The pain can be alleviated very quickly when time is of the essence. When you are in the same room with a sleeping patient and don't want to disturb him or her, you can put several large pills in at the same time and crush them silently.

It was because I felt that it would be too expensive to buy a crusher. I really like these. In my opinion, the biggest issue wasn't crushing the pills, but keeping them whole and getting them into your mouth once crushed. I didn't buy the pill crusher because I figured keeping them together was a bigger problem. With these, I crushed them with a small hammer and then mixed in a Tablespoon of cool whip or poured them into my mouth. It worked like a charm.

Out of about 1,000 uses, there were about two rips. I've never found a bag that was ripped.
