This is a question for which I have a correct answer. One of them is 14804, which has a good Velcro seal. Make sure the Velcro is aligned correctly, and as a backup, I recommend using a small binder clip. Hollister's online catalog has a lot of options, but it can be a little overwhelming at times. They made things easier a few years ago by assigning a color code to different products, in this case 'Blue.' I recommend using the 14804 because it has loops for an adjustable, elastic belt. They are available in at least two sizes, one of which is 7299 (34" to 66"). If you can wear either this or the smaller size, choose the larger size because it will be more comfortable and last longer. They're also machine washable, and if you rotate them every 3 or so washes, they'll last a long time. I recommend air drying them. The7805 rings can make a significant difference depending on the fit; 5 days or more is typical. I hope this has been of assistance. Any other questions you may have will undoubtedly be answered. My boyfriend's nurse chastised me for not using the home health agency to order his colostomy bags instead of Amazon. They're exactly the same as the ones we get directly from Hollister. These had an expiration date that was later than the manufacturer's. This came in handy when we ran out of bags and needed to get something done quickly. In addition, the price is reasonable.
The reason for this is to save money. Because the bags last longer than the wafer, you don't have to discard both when you change the wafer. Also, depending on activities, I've gone from a minimum of 7 days to a maximum of 21 days using the belt and an 7805 adapter. As a backup to the velcro closure, consider using a small black binder clip, which can be found anywhere that sells office supplies. So, in conclusion, marketing gets a five-star rating.
Skin patch (required to connect bag!) is not included in the pouch. They don't even tell you which patch you'll need so you can buy it because it's a must-have!.
The Velcro closure is the best option. I tried other systems in the hospital and found this one to be the best; be sure to get the belt to go with it as well.
