Having a comb in your pack is only helpful if your son has short hair. If he has long hair, however, the comb is a bit useless. I don't think that it will be enough to do a treatment on long hair with the 4oz bottle. To use both bottles, you will need to use two. In spite of the treatment, it didn't seem to help out with deal with the problem at all. My son and I did everything according to the directions, but it was still very disappointing since we'd heard good things about this brand.
