I'm more of a bandage kind of girl. I guess it was just not the kind of wound that a band-aid can fix. So, not knowing what to expect and having purchased them knowing nothing about finger cots, I gave it a try. I put medical tape at the base to keep my finger secure in the shower. Double up on these and place them on both of my fingers. I found it to be very efficient and effective! I cleaned my wound with a damp cloth after taking a shower, let it dry, and then covered it with a cot In the end, I cleaned my wound again after half a day or as long as I needed the cots to last. My only rip was my own fault, but to be fair, it was my own fault. While I type on my laptop all day long along with taking care of my kids, dogs, laundry, dishes, cooking, and everything else a woman or mom does, we also take care of our families. I found them very durable considering how well they held up. The only complaint I have is that I have no The way they worked was a pleasant surprise for me. To make sure that they fit, I decided to upgrade to this more expensive multi-sized pack. It is always a problem for me in the winter when I get splits on my thumb and fingers from holding fabrics and doing housework. Initially, the largest size of the cot seemed good for my thumb, but after 15 minutes, I had to continue moving up and down to relieve the pressure on my thumb. I used the medium one on my first finger and after about an hour I found a clean split on the top of it, so it wasn't from the finger nail. I can't imagine how I could have managed a 1/2 long clean split without remembering He tried them as well, but they were even tighter than mine on his fingers, so he abandoned them.
