The soft cotton-like cover has been replaced by a plasticky mesh mix
3/5

I used to be a big fan of Kotex pads. I can only say that I like a few of their pads at this point. I wish I had known before I ordered a new style of their pads that they had given in to the plastic crap covers. I expected to get a great Kotex product that considers natural balance, natural covers, and a great product, but instead we get them going with the flow, no pun intended. I went from brand to brand as a young girl because they kept switching to plastic mesh covers, and I quickly discovered that I only got urinary tract infections when I used pads. Hmm. I began testing and discovered that it only happened with brands that used plastic mesh. I quickly discovered pads with the natural covers still in use. Unfortunately, they began to use the flimsy plastic covers one by one. Always, Freedom, and a slew of other names that got caught up in the plastic mesh craze. I'm hoping this isn't the start of Kotex's demise because they've been great for the past 25 years, but this new product makes me nervous. I assumed it would be the same great Kotex product because it came in the same package as my daughter's pantie liners, which don't have a plastic mesh, but it isn't. br>br>I ended up ordering the other pad product that they still offer, which isn't natural balance and doesn't have a new specific name (which also worries me). br>These have the soft cover if you're looking for that, but I had to use these. They stink, they suffocate, and they are disgusting. At the edges, I become sweaty and irritated, and. After three days, I began to experience urinary irritation. I stopped using them, and the problem went away within a day. I chose them because they didn't appear to be as plasticky as the other brands, but when you compare them side by side and feel them with your fingers, you can tell that plastic is present. br>br>If you want the best Kotex, don't stop making cotton covers and return to natural balance. They were the pinnacle of health and happiness, but they've since been phased out.

I despise using diaper-like pads, and I usually avoid them
4/5

These are to go with the U by Kotex click compact tampons that I purchased. I despise diaper-like pads, so I usually opt for kotex pads that are extra long. I think I'd keep those and this length in my stash for when I'm not sure if the tampon will leak. Despite my fears, I have not experienced any leakage with the U by Kotex click tampons. Nothing sucks more than having the tape fail and the pad go askew and haha the blood leaked over there onto the panties and possibly onto my butt and pants, but surely those pants are dark enough that no one will notice, right? br>While price was not an issue for me, it is something you should think about. You could get similar results from the Walmart Equivalent brand for a lot less money. I like seeing the brightly colored wrapper, but that's probably very girly of me, and I'm not even that girly. I also purchase inexpensive plain old ones and am satisfied with them. If you're into that sort of thing, it's just a style. The wings are also well-knit. I also wanted to mention that someone in the questions had inquired about their softness, and the response was that they were softer than any other pad they had tried. I had just run out of 365 everyday value ultra thin dri silk, which I would compare these kotex to. The 365 are a lot softer than the kotex. I'm not particularly bothered by it, but if it's something you're concerned about, that's my two cents.

They are, after all, effective
5/5

What am I supposed to say? They ingest the life-giving fluids I spit out on a monthly basis. as if on a timer despite the fact that I am way past my prime! I'm also done with children. Back in the year 2000, br>I have to say, the wings are pretty cool; they're easy to wrap around and have saved a lot of britches. The material that comes into contact with my girly parts does not stick to them as well as some other brands. (With a wink and a wink, of course. ) Thin? yes. When I was first blessed, the industry was moving away from wearing a waist belt and using that to hold up the ends of a pad. They were about the same thickness as a mattress from Ikea. (You ne'er-do-wells have no idea what I'm talking about. ) I thought it was brilliant when they invented the sticky stuff! Instead of a thin strip running down the center of the back of your pad, which caused the sides to curl up and occasionally creep into cracks or worse, you now have a thick strip running down the center of the back of your pad. While sitting in Algebra class (which you detested), you get lost and have to ask someone to help you, only to find a mess and have to wear your sweater around your waist like a dork for the rest of the day. But I'm getting ahead of myself. ADD. br>Now they've got these WINGS! From the stem to the stern, there's a lot of sticky stuff! They don't actually move, and removing them from your pants can be difficult unless you undo each wing individually. which I have completely forgotten to do after seven days of hell. Then I discover the rest in the washer, complete with the plumped-up pad STILL stuck to my drawers. br>Kotex has come a long way since their days as mattresses between my legs. I used to always use another brand, but then I discovered U Kotex, which is, in my opinion, far superior. br>I debated whether or not to include images, but ultimately decided against it. LOL.

They have a cloth-like texture to them
5/5

Okay, so this is a pad review? Isn't it true that they're all pretty much the same? No, they aren't, as it turns out. With these, Kotex has discovered something - They have the texture of fabric. This improves comfort significantly, but it hasn't changed how absorbent they are or any of the other important characteristics of a good pad. Kotex, you deserve a five-star rating!.

I ordered a three-pack set and only got one
3/5

I'm ordering this product for the third time, and while I've always received the correct amount, my most recent order only included one of the three packs advertised. I'm not sure what to do now because I can't return the item according to the policies. For 28 pads, I literally paid $41.
