I find it very strange that this whole "preservative free" business exists. My ophthalmologist recommended the 'old' packaging for several years and I purchased it because it was Preservative-Free. If you look all over the outer box, it does say it is Preservative-Free In The Eye. I don't understand what THAT means. I called the number on the package and was told by the person on the other end of the line that it is the same formula but you cannot avoid preservatives in the bottle because you are always removing the lid. The result is that it is preservative free as soon as the eye catches it. Find out how to do that. There is no way I can. Even though the "old" bottle is what they say is the same formula, it says nothing about it not being preservative free at first glance. Therefore, I went to the facility's website and found the announcement, "NOW you can get preservative free in a bottle.". I know what you are thinking, but There is no difference in the formula, as I assumed. Does it say on the pack that it is preservative free, but it wasn't always that way? They are claiming now that they can only get PRESERVATIVE FREE eye drops in individual vials of course, you can purchase those yourself. It used to be that I would buy those before they changed the viles to make it so you could not reseal the top once the entire amount is gone. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks about this, but I find the whole thing very bizarre. Despite my recent purchase from Amazon, I have yet to open the new box I just received. I won't open it until I get an answer from my ophthalmologist to see if she can shed any light on this issue.

After an emergency Saturday morning trip to the eye doctor, I am back home.
This past Thursday, around 4 a. m. , I woke up for the day. The right eye had a hard time opening when I woke up at 00 am. When I squinted and tried again, it finally opened, but I was in pain and swelling because my cataract surgery implant (from a year ago) was nearly removed. I've been using the TheraTears drops for a couple of months now, but I found that residue would build up on my eyelids and eyelashes whenever I used them. There was a lot of residue, but it didn't just crust over. It would peel off in large pieces as if it had glue in it. Well, I put a few drops in my eyes before sleeping Wednesday night, but my eyes dried out over night. According to my eye doctor, only this could be the cause (there was nothing else). I was told to stop using TheraTears drops. There will be a delay in the return of my vision to normal due to bruised and swollen cornea in my right eye.
The irritation of dry eyes has been a part of my life my entire life. I can't recall a day when I woke up and didn't have red, bloodshot eyes until I placed drops in them. As a result of severe dry eye and allergies to preservatives used in eye lubricants, I cannot use these products. In the US, we must use little vials that are suitable for just one use, and the remaining solution is thrown away after use. Another bottled brand without preservative I tried was also pleasing to me. The last time I reordered, I saw that this brand was available in an economy size and decided to give it a try. My right eye was filled with the most wonderful sensation when I first got a drop! Wow, I didn't realize the feeling of agitated eyes could be so satisfying! I absolutely love it! I highly recommend these drops as someone who uses electronics a lot due to his or her job, especially the computer and the mobile phone. While driving to/from work every day, I started to experiment with different brands because I had different experiences where I felt a sharp pain in my eyes and had to squint to relieve the pain while still trying to maintain proper vision while driving. Other brands seemed ok at first and helped prevent these scary situations, but this particular brand felt best and was in no way sticky. It feels cool and smooth on my eyeballs, unlike other brands that felt sticky. In addition, I feel my eyes feeling fresher within a few minutes of using the product. The downside of this product is that it doesn't guarantee to remove red eye. Whenever I feel tired, my eyes turn reddish, and although my eyes look less red after using the drops, I still get a bit of redness. However, I don't think I should knock off a star for that since I have particularly sensitive eyes. The dry eyes I have are the result of a laser eye surgery that failed, so I will have them for the rest of my life we use it during the summer, when our air conditioners soak up all the moisture in the house, to treat general dry eyes.
