I will look directly into your eyes. It is possible to infect the eye lid with the applicator tip if you place it on the edge of the eyelid. Keeping the applicator tip as sterile as possible is a good idea.
There is no chance of contamination (once There are preservatives in this product.
Received mine just a week ago. Each of the three boxes has an expiration date of 08/2022.

It works better for me as a dry eye gel than an ointment, but everyone's condition is different, so here's what I found. Despite being dry enough to have given up wearing contact lenses years ago, my eyes aren't quite as dry as they were. By using GenTeal gel before bed and rinsing my face with water in the morning, I discover that the excess gel has flushed out any fine dirt that gets in my eyes during the day, and I find that my eyes feel better. Also, I no longer need to use any lubricating drops most days. All the eye ointments I tried, including GenTeal's, did not work well for me, especially after waking up, when I still had to use lubricating drops. It's beyond me to explain.
The hyperpigmentation occurs because she sleeps with her eyes open, which causes them to get dried out. They have been recommended by the vet, and we now give them to her every night before she goes to Since she's going to get a snack at the end, it's going to be fun for her. I'm happy to report that her eyes are doing well.

The tubes are not available in large sizes as I'd like. Three tiny tubes seem like an absurd waste of money.
There is a burning sensation in my eyes whenever I use this. As I suffer from sjogruns syndrome, my eyes are extremely dry, so I am not sure if that is why mine are so bad. Nonetheless, I am not happy about it. However, I will not purchase this product again since it makes getting it out of the tube easier. Neither the lotion nor the ointment will work. The ointment is what I will use.
When I am getting ready for bed, I use this gel before going to sleep. It can make your vision a bit blurry so bedtime is the perfect time to use it. I highly recommend this product as it does a great job of preventing my eyes from drying out during sleep. The average eye drop lasts a lot shorter than the one used in a hospital.
Place a drop inside each lower eyelid before going to bed. Squeeze out a little hanging drop from the tube. Exactly what I needed.
My severely dry eyes require that I buy it in a pack of 3 which makes it ideal for me as I suffer a lot from them. If I don't have it, my eyes feel as if they are filled with sand. I feel like Heaven with GenTeal, it calms my irritability, improves my vision and eases my blinking.
