Questions & Answers

What is the mechanism behind this?

It performs admirably. It was recommended to me after it was used to clean wax out of my ears at my doctor's office, and it works far better than any other ear syringe system I've tried.

Is it for elephants, or is it just a joke?

My elephant couldn't fit in it because it was too small. The full-size version can be downloaded here.

Why is this referred to as "economy"? Is the bottle smaller than those sold by other companies that sell the same product?

I'm not sure how much the bottle size has changed.

Is there a catch receptacle included in this kit?

There isn't a basin included. Separately, I bought the basin. The cleaner is in excellent condition. And the basin makes things a whole lot easier. I strongly advise you to purchase both of them at the same time.

Because I have small ear canals, wax buildup has always been a problem for me. I've only ever had my ears cleaned once at a doctor's office when I was 16, and I've never done anything except use debrox once (which I never did again because it caused more pain than anything else). I've seen the elephant in action at a clinic before, and the results were almost immediate. As a result, I went to Amazon in search of it. Because the instructions were a little hazy, I relied on suggestions from other users on this site. I added a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and some nice warm water to the mix. It's not lukewarm, but it's not hot either. At first, I was discouraged because nothing was coming out, and at one point, my right ear was completely deafened. Water had gotten trapped behind the wax, and it was obvious. I decided to keep going at that point, and by the time the third refill was finished, both of my ears had produced dime-sized chunks of wax that looked exactly like ear plugs, though I did experience dizziness and minor ear pain during and after. I looked all over the internet to make sure I didn't hurt my ear, and it appears that I didn't - dizziness and ear pain are both common side effects of ear irrigation - if it goes away within 24 hours I think my buildup has made everything extra sensitive now because it's been in there for so long. However, I've heard and read from a large number of people that this process is pleasant, so I believe it's safe to assume that the vast majority of people will experience no discomfort. I'm able to hear a lot better now. It's almost as if you're hearing in surround sound. You know how when you have poor vision and get glasses for the first time, everything seems to be in high definition all of a sudden? The only difference is that this time it's about sound. I considered posting my photos here, but there are already enough for everyone to see, so I don't see the point in doing so. In total, it took me 15 minutes and cost me less than $30. I'm very happy with the results. This product comes highly recommended by me to anyone who wants to clean their ears.

aargh! The day after stand up paddle boarding in the beautiful Newport Beach, California, harbor, it was clogged, and it felt like I'd been underwater with a ringing bell inside my head. Debrox Ear Wax removal for five days and Debrox Swimmer's Ear drops for five days did nothing but add to the irritation and a small amount of worry that something was wrong. Is it possible that I had impacted earwax, water in the canal, an ear infection, or something worse? br>br>If clogging persisted for four (4) days, a doctor should be consulted, but in the midst of the COVID-related outbreak, this was not advised. I am not a medical professional, and any advice, diagnosis, or treatment should be sought from a qualified medical professional. EARWAX PURPOSEbr>Ear wax, an oily, waterproof barrier, is naturally produced by the body to trap and keep out bacteria, fungi, dirt, and other contaminants from reaching the highly sensitive, easily-infected ear canal. It also prevents water from irritating the ear canal skin, which can lead to damage to the ear drums. According to the otolaryngologist I saw two years ago, wax is automatically expelled by the ear, much like a conveyor belt, and you don't need to clean it regularly under normal circumstances. br>br>BUILDUP CAUSESbr>Earwax can build up for a variety of reasons, and even if the canal is completely blocked, hearing loss is not noticeable. Cotton swabs and other objects are likely to push wax deeper into the canal, which contributes to blockage. In my case, the left ear produces wax at such a rapid rate that the waste disposal facility struggles to keep up. Moreover, despite every physician's warning, I did occasionally use cotton swabs to remove wax and relieve itching in my ear canal. br>br>The application of in- Earbuds and headphones, such as Apple AirPods, can cause infection by pushing wax deeper into the canal and preventing natural wax removal. br>br>Do not clean earwax with cotton swabs. They push wax deeper into the ear canal, making it difficult and potentially dangerous to remove impacted wax. Healthy Hearing can be found at this website. According to KidsHealth, it's best to see a pediatrician if a child has earwax buildup or a blockage. Even with the remedies that helped me clear my most recent blockage, DO NOT attempt to remove wax on your own. You'd be risking your child's hearing being permanently damaged! br>br>Earwax should be removed naturally by taking regular, warm showers or baths. Dizziness, vertigo, and vomiting can occur when you use too hot or too cold water. br>br>DOCTOR'S ASSISTANCEbr>An ENT doctor can assist with wax removal by irrigating, vacuuming, or scraping. My otolaryngologist even suggested that I come in for ear cleaning once a year, just like I do for annual health checkups or dental cleanings. Thank you, but if effective remedies were available, I would not pay $60 per visit to go there. br>br>I HAD BLOCKAGE AGAINbr>Five days ago, I had blockage again, two years after the Otolaryngologist vacuumed a massive amount of wax out of my left ear. It had happened a couple of times before and cleared up on its own a few days later, but not this time; unlike the previous times when I could still hear, this time I would have VERY limited hearing. br>br>Hydrogen peroxide, hot showers, warm syringe irrigation, and Debrox Ear Wax Removal only added to the aggravation. With COVID, you can get a lot more done in a short amount of With a pandemic level of 19 in our county, going to the doctor would be my absolute last resort, so I set out to inspect the ear myself when I came across an irrigation product that solved my problem. OTOSCOPEbr>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br To see what was going on inside both ears, I used Oxbird Otoscope. It entailed carefully navigating the ear canal while watching a live video feed on a smartphone app (available for Android and Apple iOS). I hadn't felt this nervous in a long time. . . a small mistake could result in permanent hearing loss!

- The unaffected RIGHT ear was examined first to see how close I could get the otoscope to the ear drum before it became too close. It was an unappealing sight!
- The LED-light was used to examine the clogged LEFT ear. Until it came face to face with a wall of alien-like creatures, the camera was lit. I had both elbows on the table the entire time, terrified of making a mistake or getting too close to the ear drum with the otoscope. br>br>I had both elbows on the table the entire time, terrified of making a mistake or getting too close to the ear drum with the otoscope. I had no idea what I was in for when I went into the ear canals! It's important to remember that even a light touch to the eardrum can cause it to rupture. br>br>EAR IRRIGATIONbr>Now that I'd confirmed that the left ear was once again impacted by earwax, I tried to carefully scrape a bit off with the Oxbird Otoscope. It took a lot of courage to do that. wrecking! I eventually came to a halt because I couldn't tell how close I was to the ear drum, and I moved on to another product that sounded promising: Elephant Ear Washer by Doctor Easy. br>br>The Ear Washer's premise was straightforward: Fill it with lukewarm water and irrigate with a pump. br>br>The first test pumps were done with care and gentleness, and some wax was washed out into the Jiesi Ear Wash Basin. Then I pumped harder, and a large chunk of wax fell to the basin's bottom. My mind had been completely blown. Oh, my goodness! I irrigated the good ear for a laugh and was surprised to see a large chunk of it wash away as well. It was, however, smaller than the other ears. br>br>I was sold, and I believe I had finally discovered a product that can help with the regular removal of excess wax buildup without having to pay $60 per visit to an ENT specialist. br>br>FINALLY A SOLUTIONbr>I was overjoyed and excitedly informed my wife that I could hear once more! She gave a small smile and a congratulatory look with her eyes before returning to her work. So, if this review has helped you with your earwax build-up or blockage, I hope you can join me in the celebration. To summarize, here's what I've been up to for the past week:
- Debrox Ear Wax Removal was used twice a day to loosen the wax, but it did not seem to help with the blocked earbr>- Showers with warm water sprayed into the ear from a bulb syringebr>- With its companion video app, the Oxbird Otoscope can be used to view the ear canals. br>- Doctor Easy's Elephant Ear Washer sends a jet stream of very warm water into the ear canals to flush out a minefield of wax, including the mother of all wax minefields: impacted wax about the size of a half-dollarbr>- Ear Wash Basin to catch anything that comes out of the ear during irrigationbr>br>Remember that children under the age of 12 should not use the Doctor Easy washer and should instead seek medical advice from a pediatrician. Before trying anything I've described here, you should seek medical advice from a qualified professional. This review is simply a summary of my experience and what worked and didn't work for me.

It was well worth the money

My 17 y. His ear was clogged with wax, and he had to go to the doctor. a doctor's visit- This is the one they used- However, because it was so deeply impacted, it did not work. We were about to schedule an ENT appointment, but I placed an order for this instead. Debrox should be placed in his ear - 20 minutes had passed I used the same H2O2 1/2 strength solution as the nurse and it worked! It is extremely simple to use.

I purchased this after seeing it used in a pediatrician's office and having the providers actually recommend it for use at home (for my child who produces a lot of ear wax). It couldn't be easier to use or more effective, and it's all done in such a short amount of time! I was blown away and had to rave; I'm not going to post pictures so no one pukes while reading this. To the warm water, add a "capful" each of alcohol and hydrogen peroxide (I added a tad more peroxide because it helps soften the wax), as well as a "drop" of baby soap, according to our pediatrician's office.

It simply works

I rarely write reviews, but this product is so fantastic that I felt it would be almost impolite not to take 3 minutes to tell you how wonderful it is. br>I won't bore you with pictures of my ear wax, but let's just say that both of my ears were free of thick, 1/3-inch ear wax balls in 3 minutes. Please don't waste your money and time by going to the doctor. Of course, this assumes you don't have an infection or a problem with your eardrums being perforated.
