This travel cooler is perfect for me since I have to take a medication that must be kept cold on long international flights. Whenever I go through the security checkpoint at the airport, I take my bag out and place it on the belt by itself, rather than having it go through the bag and then get searched. Otherwise I'll have my entire bag searched. Although this cooler does keep cold for about 10 hours, I've found that it is enough to meet my requirements. There is very little risk of harm to the medication, since it is well-protected against theft or The one I have had no problem with has been used on four overseas flights and a couple of short flights. This cooler is great, but I think they could have made it a little bit smaller.
I purchased 4 extra ice packs, frozen them all, put 2 vials of insulin and used them all. I wrapped the cooler in a t-shirt for extra insulation. We are going on a long trip with layovers, so I tested it out. I kept these vials cold for over 12 hours in this cooler, and the packs still had ice in them. The extra ice packs are recommended if you think you will go over the 6 to 8 hours claimed in the advertisement. Having this done is very satisfying to me.
In my experience, this product isn't suitable for anything longer than 4 to 5 hours of insulation. I bought it to keep insulin cool on a long ride. Flights over a long distance A nine year old doesn't have quite that long of a memory. I do 5 hours of homework each night This device is pretty well designed, and when I tested it both with the included icepacks (FAIL) as well as larger, thicker ones, I found that it reached room temperature after about 7 hours. A product that serves a purpose - The refrigerator is designed to hold your vials and insulin pens, but you can't keep them refrigerated over night. It wouldn't be a problem for me if you looked elsewhere for that, as I am currently.
In addition to two different insulin types I use every day, I am diabetic. The pen for insulin is a pen and the vial for insulin is In consequence, I have to carry both syringes and pen needles when I travel, and this case is perfect for carrying both. It has lots of interior storage space, and if your insulin needs to be kept cool, it comes with 4 individual bottles. There are freezable ice packs on the market. There's nothing wrong with it at all.
I use this sleeve for transporting and storing my sumatriptan, needle snippers, alcohol wipes, and syringes. Despite the fact that I rarely go out, I am certain the cooling packs will be extremely helpful.
While this carrier is a bit too large for my use, I recently used it on a 10-day trip in the mountains Refrigerator trip of 1 hour - I kept the food in the refrigerator and it stayed cool. A thin cooling brick was also fitted on top of it. I chilled it in the refrigerator for a few days to ensure that it was nice and cold. If those precautions were taken, it would have stayed cool for a much longer period of time.
I purchased it after extensive research to carry medications for international trips. Two flights were involved a short flight was required and a longer flight was required. This took 16 hours of travel time. The 4 ice bags and one extra cylindrical ice pack I placed in the bag were not enough to achieve that goal. Our flight attendants sent us ice bags to place in our cooler on the long haul flight in order to keep the medication cold through the flight. As an alternative to using the refrigerator in the airline lounge, we placed the cooler between flights. In the future I may not use this product since I will travel long distance again. For those of you who still need 4-packs of this item, let me know. I can do this in five hours. Despite that, don't keep it longer than that.
