In addition to six pens, multiple needle caps, extra lancet needles, and extra alcohol pads, I had room left over for other items.
In my van (away from direct sunlight) this has been keeping mine quite cool for a whole day. It is my hope that this will be helpful.
It takes a little more than an hour for both freeze packs to melt

My Forteo pen fits with no change to the case, and I also have a 5" long Taylor thermometer that measures 1" in diameter and can be stored in the case for temperature monitoring. I can live without extra room for needles in the case after the ice packs and Forteo are inside, and it is snug enough without the ice packs and Forteo. It is sold at $9 (Taylor Precision Products Standard Grade Thermometer 1" Dial). It costs $85 on Amazon
The construction of the case and gel packs is quite good. It has Denim is used for the outside of the garment. It kept things cool during a fair amount of testing, but I did not see any significant improvements. During my testing I discovered that the internal temperature plunged after the frozen gel packs were inserted, to close to freezing, for about 45 minutes, so don't insert the Forteo immediately. Usually by this time, the temperature is reached at 36 degrees, the minimum temperature for the Forteo, and the Forteo can be inserted safely. After 5 hours, the temperature will drop to 36 - 46 degrees. After 6 hours, it will return to the recommended range. hours after it was set, there was still a temperature of around 60 degrees, which is higher than the recommended level, but still below the ambient It is probably better if it maintained temperature for a longer period of time, but the performance of this case is probably equal to most of its counterparts You should keep in mind that Lilly claims the Forteo pen can withstand a 77 degree room temperature for up to 36 hours at a time. In addition, I did a test where I refrigerated the case to see if it would maintain a cooler temperature for a longer period of time. With the gel packs in place, the temperature only went from well above freezing to well below freezing, which meant the Forteo could not be put in until closer to an As for the time it maintained the ideal temperature range, it managed to do so for about 5 hours. You will have to monitor the temperature closely after putting the gel packs and Forteo in a refrigerator or cooler. The temperature will rapidly drop, close to freezing or even below - so be careful! It is not possible to use the Forteo if it freezes.
I did not use this for insulin, but for a medication I had to keep cold while After a few hours, the freezer packs would be completely thawed and also started retaining heat, even though they were rock solid when they had been made. It has a few factors to consider, like I was often outside for several hours at a time using this and it was in a backpack (so I was warm from my body heat and outside temperature was warmer), but that's why I got it. I could carry my medication with me when I went outside. I kept the cooler bag near the coolest part of my backpack and was careful not to put it near any cold bottles of water, but it couldn't keep my medicine chilled at all. It took roughly 7 hours to go between refrigerators during a day, and 6 hours between microwaves. In 5 of our 10-minute trips, we were in a climate controlled environment and in 4, we rode in a cold train, but it had warmed up by the time we reached It's best not to do this if you're going to leave it out for more than a few hours. If the temperature is above 90 degrees, it's probably best to stay inside.
As a result of Type 1 Diabetes, my son has various health problems. Keeping the insulin cold is always a challenge when we travel to the beach or on a plane. It's a very sturdy and functional design, and it works perfectly. As it turns out, the case is a bit larger than I imagined, so it doesn't really fit in my purse, but it does fit nicely I would highly recommend this product.
As I understand it, the case is designed more for insulins and insulin-producing devices As good as (Victoza, etc. ) pens, but to my mind it is a bit bulky. A standard insulin needle kit is not responsive since Humilin comes in an oversized bottle, so an insulin needle kit cannot fit. As I hunted around, I came across this one and tried it out. Overall, it's a pretty decent tool. Besides the slot intended for a meter, I use the larger pocket opposite for needles and the smaller slot on the opposite side for my insulin bottle. The needles I used to use in the pens went in the center slot. The topic of cooling is up for discussion. As long as the ice packs are within reason, they work very well. It should not be expected that these cases work in the same way as an Igloo cooler because their insulation isn't workable. It's not realistic to expect the case insulation and small ice packs to do magic. This will keep the insulin at a constant temperature of cold to cool based on the ambient temperature and exposure time. Does it keep it at a constant temperature in the fridge? Not at all. Over the course of the day, do you rely on insulin that is below the 85* maximum recommended? It is true. When you are going to be on the field all day, you just might have to use a real cooler.
Some of the compounded medicines I have melt easily, so they are kept The ice packs were left in the car as I was traveling to/from Costa Rica and Phoenix. Despite the dry heat of Phoenix and the hot, humid climate of Costa Rica, my medications made it safely to and from both locations (4 days in the pack, unrefrigerated) and the case remained cool without I highly recommend it as a travel option.
am in love with There was a question on here asking if it was possible to fit a glucose meter inside. My response was that I did not believe that to be true. There is adequate space in this bag to fit a glucose meter and the associated accessories. Even if it is only a few meters.
Thanks for sharing this. I was looking for something like this. In order to keep my insulin cool on flights and short road trips, I carried a cooling bag. There is no better solution than this. With the zippered case, I can easily store my pen, needles, and other supplies. I love how cute this bag is and the two freezer packs stay cool for hours.
It has been useful while traveling a number of times. My ice packs kept frozen for a solid five hours. They continue to stay cold for several more hours. If I need more, I will order it again.
