Therefore, I prepared an effective mosquito repellant for dogs by mixing Citronella Essential Oil with 99% rubbing alcohol. According to my research, the percent mix for this particular concoction is much stronger than what I used. My dog was covered in a spray bottle and her eyes were covered. I sprayed her all over and on her harness and the mosquitoes stayed away. Nevertheless, they seemed to be attracted to me, albeit not as strongly as they once were. There were times when I had to respray both of us frequently. This is not the best or the perfect way to keep mosquitoes away, but it is the most effective. We were able to use the essential oil for the entire season with the bottle. Next year, I will just have to buy a new bottle so that I can make I will buy from this seller.
