Questions & Answers

Is it true that this lamp can help with vitamin D deficiency?

Joan R. Vitamin D is derived from the sun's UV rays. said on February 14, 2015 | Edit br>Vitamin D is derived from the sun's UV rays. Because the lamp is said to be UV-free, no Vitamin D is produced. "When the sun's ultraviolet rays interact with cholesterol on the skin, previtamin D3 is produced." The kidneys and liver are involved in a series of reactions that result in vitamin D being produced. br>Most people's bodies can produce enough vitamin D with just 10-minutes of sun exposure. Exposure to the sun for 15 minutes 2- Three times per week is recommended. Age, season, latitude, time of day, cloud cover, smog, and skin pigmentation all have an impact on this synthesis. " It's a Lifescript." com

Can I apply my makeup in the morning with this light?

Sure, you can give it a shot. It's a bright therapy light, but it's a good light.

Is that a photo of a real device or a drawing? There is no visible cord and it appears to be photoshopped in. ?

That's exactly what it appears to be. Although there is a cord coming from the bottom, you can still stand it up because there is a notch on the bottom of the light that the court has fixed.

Is this something that can be recharged?

It connects to a 120V wall outlet, not a 110V outlet.

My SAD grew wings and flew away! That is quite a compliment for me and everyone who knows me
5/5

When the clocks change on November 1st, I start crying and becoming dysfunctional. I'm 65 years old and was just looking for a solution. I usually start having inexplicable visions around this time, and I'm hoping for someone to come and get me between November and the dreaded day of December 21. I bought it in October in order to get a head start on it. That first weekend, I was in the hospital having my spine fused. I sat under that lamp for hours trying to gather enough supplies to get me through the week away from home, and IT WORKED! I've been recovering at home for the past three weeks and will be returning to work soon. Every time I get a chance, I sit in front of this light. Sundown is no longer a source of sadness and despair; come on, Winter Solstice, I've prepared something special for you. I'm also being treated by a doctor for depression, but I'm feeling better than I have in over two decades.

It is possible to use Happy Light as a window treatment
5/5

In Minnesota, there are fewer classrooms. This light is precisely what I was hoping for: For several reasons, I had considered purchasing the Sphere Gadget Technologies Lightphoria, 10,000 Lux Energy Light Lamp. It is bright, compact, and effective. The higher lux output is the first point to mention. Second, LED lighting is more energy efficient than compact fluorescent lighting. Third, while the lightphoria can be adjusted, the Happy Light cannot. br>After considering these factors, I decided against the Lightphoria in favor of the Happy Light due to cost, aesthetics, and a skepticism about the need for 10K over 5K Lux. Apart from the fact that it helps you get more vitamin D (maybe? ), I don't know much about the significance of Lux values. br>Also, after reading reviews about how ugly/medical-looking it is, is it something I would notice?)br> I was drawn to the Happy Light because of its aesthetic value, despite how device-like the Lightphoria appeared. I work in a classroom and didn't want to attract the attention of the other students. I've been sitting at my desk for a long time and I'm getting tired of it I decided to order the Lightphoria if I didn't think the Happy Light was bright enough. Thankfully, I don't have to do that! As you can see in my photos (taken in normal classroom lighting conditions), this light produces a powerful beam. Because my eyes aren't used to the brightness, it almost made my eyes hurt when I turned it on for the first time. I leave it on for 15 minutes. It sits less than 3 feet away from my face on my desk for 30 minutes when I first get to work (see photos). I'm getting used to the brightness now, and I'm noticing a difference in how alert I feel after three days of use. Oh, and after 30 minutes, it does get hot (but not excessively hot), but I usually turn it off by then. It doesn't bother me. br>I first considered getting a light because of my caffeine sensitivity; a single cup of coffee in the morning is enough to make it difficult for me to fall asleep for the next 12 hours, so I needed an alternative to help me wake up in the mornings. Plus, after my third winter in Minnesota (following a stint in Colorado), I was convinced. NM) that I'm suffering from seasonal affective disorder. br>FYI, when you open the box, the light's screen isn't installed, so you'll have to unscrew the top to slide it in. The nice part is that the company includes a screwdriver for precisely that purpose (kudos for that level of attention to detail!). It's for a Flathead screwdriver, but the slit is large enough that if you don't have one, a butter knife will suffice (see photos). br>The size and shape of this Happy Light appeal to me. I don't believe I made a mistake by passing on the Luxphoria. I believe that 5K Lux is more than adequate for me, and I believe it is for others as well. Anything brighter than 5K would be too much for me! After turning it off, you'd notice spots! br>*I am the sole author of this review. I wasn't endorsed in any way. What a difference this lamp has made in my life - This light was purchased for my mother, who is 84 years old
5/5

She doesn't go out very often, and we don't get much sun in the winter. What a change in her demeanor this light has made! On the first day, we noticed a difference. She was smiling and had a lot more energy after two days, and her attitude and mental function had improved. She has participated in family activities such as meals, holiday get-togethers, and watching Amazon movies (she used to stay in her room). make excuses for not participating) It's a night and day difference! I wish I'd purchased it earlier.

I am confident that I would have spent the extra money on if it had been available
3/5

If Verilux had told you that you had to be at least eight years old, you would have been shocked. I am pretty sure I would have spent the extra money for a better option if I had to stand 10" away from this light to achieve 5,000 lux (on Amazon, no on the box after you purchase it). 5,000 lux at 8-hours is written on the side of the box. 10'' and 10,000 lux at a distance of 4'' 6" (as shown on the side of the box in the image below). Get a ruler and measure the distance between your eyes; having a bright light so close to your eyes isn't very realistic. Also, if you're sitting that close, I'm wondering if there will be any long-term effects on your eyes. For the past four days, I've been using it. As others have stated, there is a loose screw that rolls around, but aside from that, the heat that it eventually generates comes from the back and bottom, so as long as you sit close enough to it, you should not notice any real heat emanating from it. It's small, so I wouldn't recommend it for therapy, but it's perfect for someone who just needs a nice little lamp. What you pay for is exactly what you get. It was a good lesson. If you don't have a lot of depression or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), you might be able to tolerate sitting uncomfortably close to the light. I don't feel any different after four days, except that I'm experiencing more buyer's remorse. Regrettably, I'll cast a wider net and avoid companies like Verilux that are deceptive.
