The majority of the current crop of lamps for light therapy are identical in their design. I have looked at models in the price ranges I researched that have a 5"x12" rectangular form factor with a kickstand. Brightness and ergonomics don't vary sufficiently to matter across models, so I would assume all models would provide the same primary "light therapy" function. Additionally, reliability should not differ greatly between the two methodologies. It's up to you if you wish to have a separate price tier for brighter, larger, or wearable light therapy! I considered the following variables to be important 1) Aesthetics (deducting a star after receiving)br> - I loved the soft, minimal bezel - The product listing for this lamp has a less attractive design. I received the product and was pleasantly surprised by how friendly it is, how round it is, and how minimal it is. In actuality, there is a 0 in the equation. When the light is on, it has a 5" bezel around it In the image for the product there was no indication that they had done this. It still looks amazing when the light is turned off. I understand why they did it, but I didn't see it in the image. 2) Cost. This was probably the least expensive option I had when ordering. A deal like that is hard to beat. Three) Functionality

Winter is also a difficult season for me because I have chronic depression. Getting this bright light has really helped, helping me make a habit of using it almost daily while I drink my morning coffee and answer my emails. I love the fact that it is so portable and can be used anywhere! I also love that it has a timer and various brightness settings! My own experience works for me, so I use it almost every day for waking up. It has really helped me feel ready for the day, even if I know I have 14 hours of zoom classes and meetings ahead of me. Those tough times are here again, but perhaps this lamp will help ease the pain.

In the fall, I experienced a loss that caused me to suffer from seasonal depression. Some of the fog that I was experiencing has lifted with this light. Using it for about 4 hours per day (not at its brightest strength), I use it about 4 hours per day on the warm setting. For gifts, I will be purchasing these for my family.

I like the fact that it is so cheap. When I test this light with my muscle testing device, it tests extremely positively-- I like the red light, but not so much the yellow. When it comes to the white, you can get the best results. Being a highly sensitive person energetically, I feel a wonderful sensation when I am surrounded by white light.

My regular lamp type happy lamp was worn out for a short time, so I bought this one to replace it. I love it so much more than the other. The picture frames fold up to lay flat, it is very affordable, and I rather like the four levels of brightness that the warmer light gives as I don't like the glare of white light.
