These did not last as long as promised. They would always say yes to me at night. Around 10 hours into the experiment, the tape started to soak There wasn't a problem during the day, but if your child sleeps for longer than 10 hours they may be wet in the morning.
Our first attempt was to open the package and let it air out for a few days in the garage, but the smell persisted throughout our home. The absorbent and leak-proof lace cloths should work fine as long as you cannot be bothered by the smell. We only used them for a couple of days so we can't say for sure how long they will last.
