Questions & Answers

Is it possible to put this on the back of the truck instead of the front?

It's possible that it'll work out. However, if it's mounted on the back truck, it'll be more stable because when braking, especially on a hilly road, A User usually shifts his weight back.

Will this work with sidewinder trucks on a board?

Yes. There's no problem at all. It will allow you to enjoy fantastic longboard carving on a slope with sidewinder trucks. Once it has reached the desired speed, all you have to do is lightly press the screw pedal, and it will control the speed as needed. Feels at ease and secure.

Would this work as a drop-down menu option?

Here at Amazon, we have a drop-down longboard brake. B078CXRQV1 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B078CXRQV1) It stands for DWR BRAKE, which stands for DROP DOWN LONGBOARD. It actually works. Please take a look and see what I'm talking about. Thanks!

I have a Landyacht Switch 40 with a drop-down menu. Is this going to be a good fit for my skateboard?

Yes. It works. With the help of two black modular space blocks, you can adjust its height. They will configure your Switch 40 to its optimal settings. Thanks. If your board is still too low after setting it up, a pair of 1/2-inch riser pads will help you get the best setup possible. Thanks.

This is a high-quality product that functions properly
5/5

I've only been skating for two months and am 34 years old. As a result, it seemed necessary to come to a halt. Braking with your feet. I am not a fan. This is an excellent item. Steel and rubber of high quality. It doesn't have a cheap or flimsy feel to it. If you have all of the necessary tools, installation is simple; however, you should take your time to ensure that everything is aligned correctly. br>Stopping is simple and quick, and for the most part, smooth, though there is some jerking. I believe that with time and practice, the jerking will become less noticeable.

This is something I really enjoy
5/5

This is something I really enjoy. I try very hard not to eat it or hit pedestrians as an 'oldish' longboarder (49 yrs, but who's counting). This device is extremely beneficial. I do a little cruising, carving, and dancing. I don't have any big hills, but even shallow hills can quickly build up speed, so being able to easily scrub off speed is useful. One thing the instructions don't emphasize that I found crucial is to really tighten down the mounting screw, as this makes it a lot springier and keeps it tight against the bottom of the board. It has a good design and is of good quality. I received the harder/plasticy slide rather than the rubber one. I also got the regular size (they have a larger/heavier duty version as well, but it is heavier). My board (Loaded Bhangra) is quite large, and at 6 ft 175 lbs, it is more than enough for me. It's fantastic! Foot braking is much easier and less risky.

Good brake, but installation necessitates the use of power tools
5/5

I just received this brake a few days ago. The brake does its job and should make riding up big hills on my longboard much safer. It's a significant improvement over using your feet to brake. br>br>Installing it on my longboard (top mount) was relatively quick and painless, though it did necessitate the use of a power drill and a few other tools. Overall, I'd buy it again.

Hardware that is not too expensive
3/5

I bought it for an Atom longboard (the same as MBS), but the hardware disappointed me. I'll make a spacer because the extension block isn't long enough, but the screws for the extension that came with the kit were already pre-installed. stripped. After getting everything set up, I realized the extension wasn't long enough, so I went back to the hardware store to get a coupler and stud, or I could cut up a cutting board to make room for the rubber pad and buy longer pad hardware. Although I recognize that it is universal, there is no justification for using such low-cost hardware. Overall, it's not worth 68 dollars. Unfortunately, there is little product competition.

This is a fantastic addition to my Atom longboard! I bought this brake for an Atom longboard because I have a large puppy named Otis who is cooped up for the majority of the day and needs to burn off some energy
5/5

Otis, a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix who pulls me on my board at night, is a very muscular Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix who pulls harder and faster every day and stops frequently to check and leave pee-bags. mail. I was foot braking, but I'm 50 years old and weigh around 210 pounds, so I don't think foot braking at 12 mph is a good idea. 15 mph is easy on my knees and hips when I run it frequently. Not to mention that the majority of my wipeouts have occurred as a result of attempting to avoid colliding with my dog while coming to a complete stop. br>br>Installation was a little difficult; there were no instructions other than what was posted on the Amazon photos, which did not show my set up very well, but if you are reasonably mechanical, you can make it work with the materials provided. br>br>For me, this brake is ideal! The addition is fantastic. It's a hit with Otis and I, and we highly recommend it!.

It's simple, elegant, and it does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

Purchase was excellent. The slide brake is simple and elegant, and it performs exactly as it should. Furthermore, if you are accustomed to braking by dragging your foot or toe, there is little to no learning curve. br>br>I anticipate that this will pay for itself in a year or so (after two months of use, my skate shoes show no signs of wear - They'll only need to be replaced once in a while now).

Isn't it a waste of time? The equipment is adequate, but it appears to be a waste of time
4/5

The amount of effort it takes for me to figure out where the lever is behind me and lightly step on it so as not to hard brake while maintaining balance while sliding my back foot around. It occurs to me that I could simply drop my heel to the ground and slide to a halt in this manner. I'm not sure if I'll like it after some practice, but I'm not impressed right now.

Much better than using your feet to brake, but it may necessitate some DIY
4/5

Works OK. Much better than using your feet to brake, but it may necessitate some DIY. br>br>Because my board has risers, I had to extend it with a rod of the same diameter and threading, as well as a rod coupler from a hardware store, in order for it to touch the ground. So it wouldn't unscrew itself, I screwed the rod into the base and used Loctite Blue to secure it to the top. It makes me feel a lot better about my ability to bomb hills. br>br>.
