Selected User Reviews For Neptune Concealment Kydex Holster for FN FNX 45 Full Size - Light / Laser Bearing Nestor Series - Veteran Made in USA
The holster fulfills the purpose for which I purchased it. But it's not particularly good at it. br>br>In fact, the holster is too tight on the pistol. I have to exert significant force to draw or holster the pistol even with both tension screws completely removed, and it kept snagging my surefire's retention pin until it worked itself loose and I misplaced it. br>br>I was dismayed to discover that the kydex on the bottom is nearly a quarter of an inch too short to fully protect the tac light's bevel or lens. This is in stark contrast to the holsters depicted on the sales page, and it irritates me. br>br>It's impossible to mount the IWB clips in such a way that the pistol has a lot of forward cant without dropping the holster's lip below the belt line, which is a problem because the holster aperture compresses slightly under the belt's pressure and re-opens. It's not possible to holster your weapon. A different IWB clip design, combined with thicker kydex or a reinforced aperture, would solve the holstering problem and give users more holster positioning options. The holster isn't very comfortable when worn IWB. The thin kydex backing (which serves as a sweat shield for the upper half of the slide) is narrow, thin, and sharp, despite the rounded and polished edges. If I don't move and bend my torso carefully enough, it bites. If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I would. This painful issue could be alleviated if I holstered the pistol and wore it deeper in my waistband. If worn OWB, the holster is more comfortable and can be canted at a greater angle. br>br>A leather or gel backing would also be a fantastic addition that would greatly increase comfort. br>br> However, as other reviews have stated, the OWB loops are "one size fits most" and are far too large and loose for my belt (I wear a 1. The 5" Daltech Force Bullbelt is too wide and thick to fit through the belt loops in some of my jeans, but it's as thin as a ribbon inside these OWB holster loops. br>br>I'm going to try gluing some leather to the back of the holster to see if that makes it more comfortable for me. If not, I'll make my own belt loops, use the Neptune OWB at home or on the farm, and look for another IWB.
Every now and then, a product is deserving of one of two things: a positive or negative review. br>This custom-fit holster receives a 5 out of 5 star (Excellent) rating. br>br>The money spent on this holster was well spent. I can draw and fire in less than a second thanks to a very smooth and snug fit. The rear serrations and slide are protected by a high guard that is smooth and round around the edges, and the holster keeps the sidearm close to the body and is a good fit, allowing me to run and shoot without wiggle. The tensioner is one of my favorite features on a non-locking holster. This allows the user to adjust the firearm's fit by tightening or loosening the screws. For those of us who live in areas with changing weather, this is a must. When it's hot outside, kydex flexes more and loosens up a little. It becomes more constricting and tight as the weather gets colder. This tensioner takes care of the issue. br>The addition of a flashlight (tlr 1 hl) ensures a perfect fit. I sense that the maker places a high value on attention to detail. br>There is a space at the end of the holster where the barrel meets the kydex at the bottom, which most people will probably not notice. It's partially enclosed to keep debris out of the barrel, but there's plenty of room to flush out water if you have to swim. br>br>I've mostly used Safariland ALS holsters, as well as some drop Leg and hip rigs and some Las Vegas-based custom kydex holsters. Clearwater Tactical has a great deal on this holster. In multicam, I'd like a second.

This is my fourth holster from these guys, who are incredible to work with, have excellent customer service, and are veterans themselves. After I placed my original order, I made a last-minute change. I sent them an email, and they quickly responded and changed my request. The holsters are amazing! You can spend twice as much on a name brand that will still fall short of these holsters. Thank you again, Neptune Concealment, for keeping my money and allowing me to stay with you.
It fits perfectly and arrived quickly. Exactly what I needed!.
The Neptune Nestor series holster's quality is outstanding, and it's the first thing you'll notice, as is the retention. Light bearing options outperform others, which is why I decided to give them a try. I purchased two of them, one IWB and the other an OWB. Both are excellent products, and people are always curious about the manufacturer. The next holster I order will be for a drop leg QLS rig, and Neptune Concealment has earned my trust with their service and quality on these previous holsters. They also have my light option available. In addition, the company is veteran-owned. When you find a company that gets it right, it's difficult to go anywhere else.
It's a perfect fit for my fnx. Overall, the quality is satisfactory. It did have a crack on the bottom, but this does not appear to be a problem. It does ride a little high (above the center belt), but I simply replaced it with a drop loop, which improved the way it hung on the belt.
