For about 6 days, it worked perfectly. After that, it splits. It has holes in it that allow it to be turned around. Take a look at how small and frail the plastic piece, circled in red in my photo, is. From the belt clip, this is the ONLY thing that supports and holds the entire unit. So there's all that pressure of lifting and replacing the square over and over again, with the whole thing swinging back and forth. climbing up-and-down as you walk around as well as down the stairwell- ALL OF THIS IS SUPPORTED BY THIS TINY PIECE OF PLASTIC! It's a completely ridiculous design. Time and money are both wasted.
When it falls out, you have to constantly pick it up. br>This "holster" is ideal, and because it is made of metal, it is practically indestructible. I'm in a good mood right now.
The product is excellent and simple to use; the only drawback is the belt clip. The belt clip is made of plastic, but the entire square housing is made of metal. I can see where it will wear down and eventually break when I take it off and on the work belt. I'm hoping for a metal belt clip instead of a plastic one. I'm confident that someone in the construction industry will discover that the plastic belt clip can be broken with just one hard snap. Will I buy it again? Yes, but only if the belt clip is replaced with a metal one for increased durability.
The absolute best way to keep squares in place. Maybe instead of the plastic piece that holds the square in place, version 3 could have a more heavy-duty spring steel retention. It was my fault; I wanted more tension, so I pushed too hard and shattered it. It works great now that I replaced it with a piece of black strapping metal that was pre-bent and tensioned. Perhaps another Chicago screw that goes through the belt loop, allowing it to be semi-permanently attached to an unused pocket on a tool pouch. Aside from that, this is a fantastic "tacticool" product.
It's well-made and does what it's supposed to do. This speed square holder would make Tom Silva envious. Thank you so much for your hard work. This is something that should be in every hardware store.
For the past ten years, I've been on the lookout for a speed square holder. I tried a few of the cheap plastic ones and found that they were either too difficult to use (getting the square out) or simply broke. Josh's square holder for speed squares is fantastic! The square is well made and fits my belt and rig perfectly, but most importantly, it slides in and out quickly and without binding. Maintain your excellent performance, Josh!.
I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination. I work on houses with another veteran as a volunteer. For me, it's a good fit. I bought a second one and mounted it on my miter saw bench because I liked it so much. It's light, but it's got a lot of punch. It has also helped to protect my square, which has fallen to the floor a few times. I'm glad I discovered that something like this is manufactured in the United States.
They will make things right if you have a problem with it. I would strongly suggest it.
