The nest box of a screech owl was not harmed. The use of a staple gun to assemble the box was disappointing to me - Screws are the way to go. The back piece of the roof did not have a vent slot where it met the back piece. The bottom piece, where you slide the wood to clean it, was also stuck. I returned it the next day, and my money was returned to me in ten days. The video was enjoyable to watch. It proved to be extremely valuable. It appeared to be a pleasant family enterprise. too bad.
After seeing an owl inside our renovation, we hung it in a tree, following the very detailed instructions provided. However, he/she has yet to locate it. The only drawback, and it's minor, is that the wood base was slightly warped, preventing the bottom from sliding out for cleaning. My husband dismantled it and trimmed the board to make it easier to slide. Our tree was crooked, so it took some work to get it to hang straight, but that's nature's fault; I'm hoping an owl will make it his or her home one day!.
Overall, it's a good product, but the clean-up has some design flaws. On the bottom, there is an out panel. After the knob snapped off, the wooden peg holding it in place swelled due to moisture and had to be drilled out. The panel itself warped and had to be hammered out from the side; I'm thinking of removing the block at the back edge and attaching the panel with hinges, then replacing the wooden peg with either a metal peg or a hook. to keep one's eye shut.
This is the best shopping experience I've ever had. The owl house is very beautiful. I am blown away.
The Owl House arrived quickly, and a friend helped me hang it in the tree. We are currently awaiting the arrival of the residents. We are hoping for a quick arrival.

Excellent craftsmanship; includes everything you'll need to put it together. It appeals to me. I'm just waiting for an Owl to show up and make himself at home.
