We ordered another for a straw because this one only came with the sip lid.
Yes, this cup can be used for both hot and cold beverages. It has a magnet slider lid/top that helps to keep the temperature in the mug consistent.
Our laser engraving and bonding are dishwasher safe. We laser engraved and bonded our stainless steel mixing bowls and put them in the dishwasher on a regular basis with no problems. However, because there is a seam, I would not put any tumbler in the dishwasher unless it was made entirely of one piece. Water can seep into seams, especially when using a dishwasher, because of the force of the water. It's always possible that it'll go funky or rust at the seams over time; we just tend to be a little too cautious, and admittedly "Type A" with our belongings because we want them to last. Longevity is sacrificed for convenience. The engraving, on the other hand, will not be affected. It is not susceptible to cracking or peeling. I hope this information is useful.
