This is not the case. The 700 Classic is the ONLY model it will fit. I appreciate it
My device is working great after I installed it. I attached it to the front logo plate on the front leg between the legs, because the brackets were too close together. I followed the instructions and mounted it to the legs. This is a sturdy tool and I am pleased to own

It's easy to set up.
This product is perfect for use with my grill or smoker.
The quality of the product is excellent. Your interpretation is spot on! As for the latches to release and fold, it is great. It would be better if it did not hide the pit boss's That is what was missing from the grill. A bit hurt my feelings drilling on the grill, but it was worth it in the end.
There was no room for the shelf.
