I am taking responsibility for not asking for a custom order when I ordered it It would have simply said Mangia (meaning "eat" in Italian). There would be nothing else on it. I requested a refund, so I sought it. It sounds simple enough, doesn't it? I wouldn't call it a big deal. Despite my pleas, the owner refused to exchange the item for what I wanted. I paid the difference and insisted it was my fault. Thus, what would I do with a board I paid good money for and waited so long for, only to see a family's name engraved on it that was not mine, but with which I had no connection. In addition, when I contacted the seller, she was more interested in writing back and forth and arguing with me than working with me as a buyer. In that case, I'll at least take responsibility for my part if I do make a mistake and do not choose the custom option. The only option I had was to explain there was no way to do so on my end. All it asked me to do was indicate what type of wood I wanted and how I wanted it to read. Therefore, I took action in this manner. But she refused to back down. Having now learned why it took so long for it to be delivered, I told her. Even if the mistake was minor, it was clearly not the quality of the work. It is made of very cheap wood, and it doesn't have a protective finish. There was a cost of $110 before taxes and fees That money is down the drain now, isn't it? This is incorrect. Because there was no protective coating, and it was so cheaply made with a little folk art paint, all it took was a little nail polish remover and some cotton balls to erase "The Mangia's. ". '''Awesome''! '''Fantastic! '''Wonderful! As you can see, I am starting with a blank board, and as you can all see, a lot needs to be done. Luckily, I have found an amazing local craftsman who will be taking good care of me. It is my pleasure to thank the owner for his rudeness, and the fact that he refused to refund me. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson, and that is to ALWAYS shop local, especially at this time since they deserve our support. The mistake that I made was mine. Let's face it, I'm guilty. The board I wanted ended up in natural instead of the finish I wanted because I didn't read well enough. It was my fault, but at least it's not as bad as the guy who ordered the word "Mangia" and blamed the seller when the plural character failed to show up. The board was then stained and resealed after we realized our error (as any honest consumer would). Initially we were a little concerned about the decal coming off, but we were prepared to use our own stencil to apply the decal. It not only held up perfectly but the pop of color added a nice touch. I was very pleased with the seller, the shipping was fast, and the product was just as described!.

I have never seen anything like this. It is very well done. As a mother's day gift, my husband got me a small collection of toys. There's just something about it that I love. He put 3 coats of urethane over it since it's not urethaned when it comes. I can't believe how shiny this is! I found it to be perfect for my stove top. I contacted the seller because I loved it so much. I mentioned that she's beautiful, didn't I? There are a thousand words in a picture.
