The containers were about halfway full, so I would say that 4 or 5 pounds should be enough. I got 2 different colors, each a pound and it wasn't quite full, but I would guess it should be enough

I thought it met all of my expectations. To use bigger sand pourers, you will need to purchase larger ones. It won't take up much of the space since the once's that come with it won't fill up a third. Their sand sprinklers are adorable keepsakes, but the husband gets them as gifts. Therefore, when I set them all together on the mantel, they work perfectly. However, when the sand is actually used for the wedding, they aren't large enough.
The paintings are simply incredible. It holds 5lbs of sand completely in the jar, so to anyone looking it should be a great product. The pouring glasses are too small.
I would recommend it. The custom writing I received was satisfactory to me. The picture shows the item as it is. The next month will be the day of my wedding and I will use this. Whenever we have the time, my fiance and I can't wait to fill it with the separately purchased sand to create our own art work to display in that place or to hang it on the wall.
It was shipped on the same day I ordered it, and it was meant for my daughter's wedding. It looks great and is perfectly etched. There is only one thing I wish it had, and hopefully I can find one that fits before the wedding to make it better.

I am so in love with this company. When the item arrived, it was shattered in pieces, and I had a week left until my wedding. They contacted me and I sent them an email As soon as they made a new one, they replaced it with the original I sent it to you. It arrived in time for my wedding and I was very pleased with it That was a beautiful sight! I highly recommend it.
