Selected User Reviews For 6 Wooden Bourbon Barrel Bungs
I had just the right amount of bung in my hole.
They're the right size for regular wine barrels. br>I was afraid they'd be on the small side and end up flush or stuck inside the barrel! br>br>I was mistaken; they fit the Barrel Hole perfectly and leave about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of space outside the barrel; It's only enough to make a good impression. br>br>I dragged them in with a Dead-Eye-Eyes-Eyes-Eyes-Eyes-Eyes-Eyes-Eyes- I didn't use a sealer because I didn't want them to come loose, but if they do, I'll use some adhesive. br>br>Good product, great price, quick shipping, and they fit.
To wedge themselves into the hole, bungs must have a gradual taper. They cut corners and used thinner bungs, resulting in a sharp taper angle that causes these to fall out even when pushed in with a mallet. They had to be glued together.
The bungs' largest end was just over 2 inches long. 0" at the very small end, but usually a little bigger. I ended up sticking out of the barrel more than I wanted (plugging old beer barrels into tables), but it didn't matter.
To replace a cork version that had disintegrated, I purchased these wooden plugs. With very little excess, it fits our wine barrel perfectly. Should hold up for a long time. and it lasts twice as long as the cork version!.
We had a couple of used wine barrels that needed bungs to keep the critters out. These are a good buy because they are well-made and fit perfectly.
Too big. They don't go together. I understand that wood swells and shrinks, but these are too far apart to sand and custom fit.
The plugs could be a little smaller, but they are well-made and arrived quickly. In general, this is a good replacement plug for your whiskey barrel.
