The bowls' openings are just under 4 inches in diameter. The bowls are slightly shorter than 3 inches in height. I make the bottom (or base) narrower than the top, but I've never measured the bottoms! Maybe 2. 5 inches? Thanks for your interest, Jay, but there will be more variability in that area.

There are many shave bowls to choose from, but these bowls check all of the boxes. br>br>1) It looks lovely on your bathroom vanity. Much better than some rusted-out rusted-out rusted rusted rusted rus a coffee cup that has been turned upside down This purchase will be approved by your wife. We're all aware of how uncommon this is. br>br>2) It all comes down to design. This bowl is easy to hold, the ridges inside the bowl aid in the formation of a good lather, and it's simply a pleasure to use. This was clearly made by someone who had used shave bowls before and wanted to make one that was better. br>br>3) This is handcrafted in the United States. It's a one-of-a-kind work of art that will last a lifetime, and it's cheaper than any Chinese dime-a-dozen. Hands down, a dozen bowl is the best deal you can get. It's a foregone conclusion. br>br> Purchase one in each of the available colors.
This shaving bowl is both attractive and practical. It fits perfectly in my hand and looks fantastic next to the sink (along with my z-tool). a stand, and a straight razor made by Hart Steel). While brushing my teeth, stropping my razor, and prepping my face, I like to fill it with hot water and soak my brush in it. The ridges help create a nice warm lather in seconds, and it's easy to clean.
I wish the bowl was an inch wider or even a half-inch shorter (so the brush doesn't clink against the sides). When lathering, 4 inches is too small, especially for larger brushes. The brush handle clanks against the sides, and there isn't enough room for it to lather vigorously. The ergonomic design is extremely comfortable in the hand. It's fairly light, with a grippy bottom that's smooth enough not to scratch your palm. This bowl will be used to load brush samples but not to fully lather them. In the future, I hope he considers making a slightly larger size. With room for improvement, I give it a four out of five.
This bowl has made my day. It's deep, which allows for a lot of lather, and the ridges at the bottom help too. Unlike many other bowls I've tried, this one is wide and deep enough for me to place my cream containers in between shaves. Also, after you've built the lather, it's buoyant enough to float in a sink full of hot water, which is ideal for keeping you warm in between passes. The finish is lovely, and it looks and feels like Japanese ceramics. It's fantastic!.
Shaving in this bowl is ideal. It's well-made, and my boyfriend appreciates how it feels in his hand and how the gentle spiral inside helps lather the beard soap. This is the second bowl we've bought because the first one broke after being dropped in the bathtub from a great height. We had to buy another bowl because he loved it so much.
I was able to get away with making my lather in a coffee mug, but it had its drawbacks. My brush handle was constantly slamming into the side of my mug, which irritated me. br>br>I came across this while browsing Amazon and had a few questions for the creator. Jay responded quickly to my emails and gave me the information I needed to move forward. br>br>Now for the shaving: THIS BOWLS GETS THE JOB DONE. I was able to make the creamiest lather I've ever made. Tallow soap from Supply Provisions and a synthetic bristle brush from Supply Provisions were used.
The bowl holds heat well, so if you rinse in hot water before lathering, the lather will stay warm. I'm not sure if it's by accident or design, but a standard tub of TOBS cream fits perfectly in the bathroom for easy storage. The swirl at the bottoms has been raised, which aids in the faster development of a lather. I'm very happy with my purchase.
The item's packaging could use some work. This is one of my favorite shaving products because of the attractive design and colors. However, the packaging was not spectacular when I received the item, as the bowl and all of the packaging materials were strewn about inside the shipping box. I noticed a small piece of scotch tape was used to keep everything in the box together, which is why it was all over the shipping box.
