The XL is what I'd go for. I bought the shirts for my daughter's Disneyworld trip with two friends. They both wear a large, but I went ahead and ordered an XL just to be safe, and they fit perfectly.

It's made of a wonderful, ultra-soft material. I normally wear an XXL, but I'm wearing a size XL in this photo. Because the design fades into the shirt color and is not visible, it receives a low rating. I confirmed with the seller that I ordered the shirt shown (Heather peach with rose gold glitter design); the design is darker and more noticeable in the product picture. I attempted to exchange it, but the seller abruptly stopped responding to my emails, prompting me to file a claim.
These shirts are absolutely stunning. The shirts are extremely soft, despite the fact that the fabric is on the thin side. And, because I live in the south and bought these for a trip to Disney World, the fabric's thinness is a welcome feature! For the design, I went with a heathered peach color and rose gold glitter, and the result is stunning. The design aspect has been executed flawlessly. But, even more important than the shirt's quality, is the customer service; there was an issue with mis-shipment. It's quite heavy, actually. If you're familiar with Bella Canvas shirts, you're aware that they're made of a soft spun, thinner fabric. This shirt is made of a heavy fabric for my child. I'm disappointed by the false advertising, but I should have known better and inquired about the shirt's brand.
