I asked myself who would package a painted product that has not fully dried. The design is horrible, as you can imagine. Some of the spots are shiny, some of them dull, and some are rough. Even though it was just painted over, you can tell that it was not sanded. It is a freaking joke that I paid this amount (which is their most expensive option and largest size). It would be a good idea to skip the painting option to save some money. I do not think it is worth it. Having someone cut the name and then preparing and painting yourself would be best for me. This is something I would have done myself if I had known about it earlier.

Although I am not sure if the listing details changed, I still remember when I first looked at these name plaques that the dimensions are given in letter heights, not widths. It kept showing up in people's pictures that they ordered 12" or 16" tall letters and I liked the look of it but was unsure about which "width" I needed to If it is to be hung over a crib, I think it is just the right size. She's called Celiese and she's just slightly under 16 inches tall, with the capital 'C'. The edges of the artwork were sanded down a bit before painting, as it was ordered unpainted. While the instructions that came with the name plaque said to use spray paint, I used acrylic paint and it came out just fine. The order arrived in just the way described and very quickly. In addition to using it for the party, I am also using it for my daughter's 5th birthday My next step was to lightly sand the rough edges and spray paint the surface white. As well as using one entire can (this required several coats, by the way) I sealed it with a clear poly satin spray. There is a perfect sheen and the gloss is not too thick. We painted all four coats in about 4 hours, with a few minutes between each coat. Although no hooks came with it, I picked up claw hooks at my local big box hardware store and simply hammered some in at each end, and this is what I got. Over her bed in the room, it fits perfectly, and it is just about the same width as her full size bed, which is just what I wanted (since it is the only thing on that wall above the bed with words on it). It is awesome to have a 16 inch screen if you have allocated space for it. It is large and impressive without being overly large or obtrusive. This is our favorite.
