How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

The Color Changing Whirly Pop from Wabash Valley Farms
There is no doubt that Whirly-Pop is the best popcorn machine ever made.
Choosing between original nylon or die-cast metal gears is possible.
You need only your favorite popcorn (we like a nice, fresh gourmet kernel), as little as a teaspoon of your favorite cooking oil (our customers prefer coconut, peanut, canola or olive oils), and less than 3 minutes to create delicious, mouthwatering popcorn.
Several steps go into the assembly of each popper, and the quality is checked.

Questions & Answers

What material is it made of? Is it solid stainless steel or aluminum that is encased in ?

They specify on their own website that this model incorporates an aluminum core. It is not made of stainless steel. They state "This premium popcorn popper is made of premium 300 series stainless steel, which resists corrosion, is easy to clean, and can handle high temperatures.". A stainless steel pan with a capacity of 6 quarts has an impact-resistant bottom and a 2 inch diameter. Ideal for even heat distribution, this aluminum disc is 5 mm in diameter.

How do I find out if this model works with an induction cooktop?

Models made of stainless steel can be used with induction. This is not the case with the aluminum model.

Do you know if it's safe to use on ceramic or glass stovetops?

Stainless steel is the one needed. The stainless cookware would function just as well on a ceramic stove top as it would on any other. The popcorn maker we have is great. We make a lot of popcorn with it.

When it comes to the lid, how big is it? What other pots will it fit on?

There are 9 1/4 inches in width. My other pans do not fit this. The pan needs to have a deep enough bottom so that the Stir Stick attached to the lid can reach.

There's no comparison between the Stainless Steel and the Aluminum models! As some reviews said the stainless steel WhilyPop had plastic gears or was too heavy, I was a little concerned
5/5

The silver colored aluminum version with plastic gears may be the model some may be referring to. In my previously owned model, it didn't have any problems and was still functioning fine. However, the aluminum residue left behind He was bruised up pretty bad. Over the course of 13 years, it was used every week! Whenever it was time to replace a drive belt, I ordered the stainless steel one from this website, and it came in perfect condition. This one has metal gears instead of As the crank is turned, an extra layer of metal is attached to the bottom of the pan, making it heavier but keeping it steady as you turn it The lightweight aluminum moves around all over the place, which is a positive. We found the popcorn to be perfect, no grey aluminum residue, and it cleaned up easily. I am so happy that I did not let the negative reviews discourage Additionally, if you do run into any problems, it has a 25-Day Refund Guarantee The warranty lasts for a year. It is made in the USA, but some parts have to be made in China, and I don't mind that. Just register it on their website. Make your own popcorn at home for a healthy snack that tastes great. It is a waste of time and energy to Cooking at higher temperatures than medium is never an option for me. I believe it's because the stainless is thick that it takes longer to heat up. The heat is too high, the oil is too low, or you are using Pam type sprays There will be a thin layer of burnt oil left on the surface that appears How to remove it can be found at the bottom of the page. I THINK THIS CORN IS POPPING! (Fill the water in the teapot with boiled water. ) When melting on MEDIUM HEAT (for gas stoves), put about 1 tsp of product on each burner tablespoons coconut or vegetable oil are required for this recipe and don't skimp or you will scorch the Start by adding a few 'test' kernels, and when they pop, add a half cup or so and then crank the machine. buy Orville Redenbacher Original Yellow popcorn kernels. ) You'll get big, fluffy popcorn from this method, but feel free to The moment my popcorn stops popping, I immediately open the flaps and shake it into a large bowl, you are not interested in it steaming in the pan, that would make it Sprinkle melted butter and salt over the salad, and you're ready to eat! Pure clarified butter, also known as Ghee, is what I use. Using hydrogenated oils or vegetable oils does not give the popcorn a distinctive movie popcorn taste. If you adjust the clip so the lid stays on firmly, the flaps are both very easy to open but you may have to experiment with it, but it's personal preference. I adjusted it so the flaps and lid hang on firmly and are very easy to It is critical to empty the popcorn into a large bowl as soon as it is popped so that steam can be let off, chewiness can be avoided, and popcorn stays What's the score on your popper? The burnt oil in the stainless steel popper will not come off with a typical cleanser if it has been burnt inside. Scrubbers with super abrasive particles or comet should not be used. To me, there is only one thing that works This cleaner and scrubbie are designed specifically for those who work in a barn. A generous amount of Barkeeper's Friend should be added inside a dry For scorched oil removal, add a few drops of water and use elbow grease and a scrubbie in the direction of the grain. It will have to be repeated. You might need to use a more abrasive scrubbie if it won't budge. . . . and it will come off! (Don't use too much water when using the cleanser. It must be a paste. ) Once all cleanser has been removed, rinse and dry with dish soap. In any case, unless you wish to do it all over again Make sure that the oil is enough and the heat isn't too high! I hope you have a great time! The best popcorn today!.

The only time I write reviews is when I am on vacation
5/5

Trying to eat healthier snacks has become a priority for my girlfriend and me. The burning through of The idea of eating three bags of chips a week probably wasn't a good idea. Our first experiment after switching to popcorn was a success. I got a microwave popper and tried it out a couple of There wasn't much of a wow factor in it. Clean up is kind of a pain, considering all the things you have to do. Furthermore, there seemed to be 1/3 of the kernels that didn't pop, even after I had run the microwave long enough to start burning the other kernels. It was decided that an air popper would be worth the price. We found that less clean up made pops more consistent. One of the air poppers I saw on Amazon had really good reviews. The reviews on a few of them were horrible, but one had three that were exactly the same. I looked closer at the others with good reviews, and the reviewers looked phony. After finding that item, I ran across this one. It looked like the reviews were good, and the reviews, in turn, appeared legit. I finally got a chance to use it last night after getting it the other day. My instructions stated that a full load should be used. Half cup of kernels and three tablespoons of oil. On high heat, I turned the burner on and started cooking. The instructions said to set the timer for three minutes, but I set it to four minutes instead. I was going to cook them until they stopped popping. I do not remember hearing a single pop before 3 minutes, so I think that was the right move. I turned the crank for 4 minutes after a slew of pops and then I couldn't move it anymore because the water level was too high. This is me I've never seen anything like this before! A girlfriend says In what way? In what way? This is me It has never been easier for us to shop at I love popcorn. I like perfectly popped corn the best. The number of unreported crimes was less than ten The kernels have popped. You can go ahead and put it away after wiping out the surface with a paper towel. It wouldn't be a big deal if I used slightly less kernels instead of a heaping 1/2 cup so there is enough room for them It's impossible for me to comment on durability, but I can reassure you that if this one breaks I will buy another just.

I recommend METAL as an option
5/5

The gears are made of plastic, unless you select metal. The Metal gears version of this whirly pop was purchased by me.
I remember my mother always made popcorn in her whirley pop when I was a kid. Having tried air poppers in the past, I can attest to their effectiveness There was always stiff popcorn and there was always a lot of butter in it A chewy/gummy texture. It's not just me anymore, I've got my own children, and I'm a mother now. Then I decided to make my own whirley pop to be nostalgic for movie night. So far, this device seems to be working well. The design of the Orville jug from Costco hasn't proved as durable, but it works well. I have not had much popcorn seeds left over (aside from the popcorn seeds used in the old version). It is a tradition for me to use melted grass to sprinkle on freshly popped popcorn- The butter (or coconut oil) should be fed and the oil should be melted A freshly cut chunk of extra sharp cheddar cheese, paired with ground Himalayan sea salt. This is the best.

An updated version of Metal Gears
5/5

I was not able to specify the older nylon gears version over the newer metal gears version on this listing however, the unit I received did have metal gears perhaps the metal gears are now the standard option? The box had a sticker on it that said "Limited Edition" The durability of the product This is a heavy duty pump. This pot from Metal Gears is aluminum, so it's lighter than stainless steel, but it appears to be durable. I've found on my electric stove that if I set it to medium heat, put the Whirley Pop on it, then put 1 teaspoon of refined coconut oil in it, and while it heats, measure out 1/4 to 1/2 cup of white popcorn kernels and add them to it. After that, the surface is hot enough to start popping in a few seconds, so I slowly turn the crank and, when it is faster, I turn the heat down to Medium and then turn off the heat when the pops have stopped after 2 seconds. It takes 3 minutes to complete this project. After that I remove the burner from the stove and wait for the popcorn to cool, then pour it Let the pot cool on its own for at least 10 minutes until it is cold enough to touch so that you can quickly wipe it out The popcorn is getting popped nicely and there are no burnt kernels. I made this popcorn with about a tablespoon of coconut oil. It was nice and soft.
