I bought these for my picky type 2 diabetic mother, who has a sweet tooth to match mine, no teeth, refuses to wear dentures, and despises her new diet and lifestyle. These bars are ideal for our needs. We both enjoy the taste, but more importantly, they meet all of her nutritional needs, are soft enough for her to eat (even more so when dipped in a little almond or soy milk), and help to curb her cravings for sugary chocolates and candies. They're ideal for a snack or a low blood sugar boost, and they're small enough to fit in her purse along with her insulin kit. These small bars have literally saved my life. As a result, I'm researching their other offerings.
Some of the bars in each box had been unwrapped and opened inside the box! I wasn't going to give those to my kids. The bars were extremely hard as a rock due to the lack of wrappers. So I basically paid full price to only be able to give my kids about 3-5% of what I could afford. Each box yields four bars. The flavors are appealing to them, but I will not be ordering these items again.
I had these years ago and loved them, and Amazon was the only place where I could find them to buy them again. As I've grown older, I've come to believe that they are wealthy. But it's still delicious. Of course, everything in moderation. They are liked by the children, but they are not adored by them. I must admit that I used to prefer them. Also, I believe they are a bit pricey, so I would only buy them on a rare occasion.
This is a great snack for school. They're nut-free and count as a healthy snack, which is important to me as a school nutritionist. They make great sports snacks for kids and are delicious. The children are kept happy by the small amount of dark chocolate. We were very pleased with the expiration dates, which were well within the appropriate length. We also serve these as school birthday treats. My children adore them, and when we leave the house, the students at our school ask for them. In the end, it was a win-win situation.
Snack size is ideal for children. We enjoyed the cocoa cherry bars so much that we wanted to try some new ones. Birthday cake, s'mores, and chocolate chip were my children's favorites from this assortment. The fruity ones didn't go over well with them - I could understand why, because they weren't particularly flavorful and were a little dry. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the variety, and as a parent, I prefer the smaller sized bars as a snack size. Read the label; the bars contain a lot of sugar (as do most bars) and only a small amount of good stuff like calcium or protein. However, because they're whole grain and my kids enjoy them, they're a great treat for a school lunch or snack.
These bars are fantastic for a sweet treat at work. Much better than a candy bar or a chocolate bar. The boxes last a long time, and while I don't always bring them with me, I do rotate them with other healthy sweet treats. I always look forward to them and am excited to try more of the company's products. The cherry-to-chocolate ratio is just right in these. They're not at all dry, and they're a little addictive.
It's difficult to come up with safe, tasty treats for him. It was a pleasant surprise to discover how good they tasted and how much he enjoyed them. My only criticism is that they do not offer smaller package sizes so that you can sample different flavors before investing $30 in five boxes. Because if he didn't like them, I would have been given $30 instead of $5 or $6 for one box if he didn't like them.
I originally purchased them as a birthday present for my son's class. They were a hit with all of the students! I ordered extras for my son to keep at home and in his car. br>The only disadvantage is the large order size! : (br>I'd like to try some other products, but I'm not willing to spend $30 just to do so. ).
