The post has been updated (it is now ready). My mother bought a lot of these on different orders last year, each one large and perfectly ripe without blemishes for only a few cents apiece. The price is $50 per unit. My memory serves me well. Perhaps I jumped the gun on this year's crop, as I just received the first order this year from this years crop. All the tomatoes were underripe, uniformly undersized, and priced The total number of ea. stands at 38. According to the description, this item is two inches tall. These are most likely smaller than last year's since they measure just over 1 inch wide. The width of a five-inch shoe. We can only hope that in a few weeks the crop will improve and the price will drop.
Updated 7/4/21 This is our second, third and fourth order of these since mid June, and we've been very pleased. A new size of 2 has been added. This is the same as four In comparison with last year, the price is still a bit high, but now it is about a dollar. The grocery store charges $3. 00 each, so it's 30% less than that. are delivered in a firm state and need to be shelf ripened for four days This means that they are ready to eat 7 days before they are ready I don't mind this because it reduces handling damage. If you squeeze the flower they should feel firm. Store in the sun stem side up until they become slightly fragranced and seem to have some give.
They were plain. This is a very bland taste.
It is a good lesson to learn. Produce should be purchased onsite instead of online. It came with brown holes and looks like it was poked earlier on in life or a habitat for a smaller creature.
I bought a watermelon as well, but it showed up smashed and in the same bag as the squashes. As well as being very small and over-ripe, they were also very sour.
This fruit was very tasty.
Whenever I'm in need of these, I have my neighbor deliver them to me. She believes they're too expensive, and I believe they're too small and hard, but she is happy to have them every two weeks.
There is no taste at all! It was a waste of time, plain and simple.
This was not the case. It had a very bland taste. I bought two and ate only.
