They only sell limes in bags that are organic - instead of providing a single organic lime br>After much deliberation, I decided to order these. I was looking for nice fresh (organic) limes to extract the juice and freeze it. Whoever put my order together should be ashamed because half of them have large brown spots on their rind. Anyone who knows anything about produce and limes knows that this means the damn things are past their prime and starting to rot! This is the last time I'll be ordering these! br>It was always wonderful when I first started ordering produce from the produce aisle. Perhaps it's because of the increased demand, but things aren't always perfect. It is, and it isn't all of the time- If you're lucky, you might get lucky. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with who picks and packs your order. What I do know is that I'm throwing things away far too frequently because what I received is something I would never buy myself. I could live without it, but I'm not going to buy half-rotten fruits and vegetables.
These limes appeared to be lovely, but when I cut them open, I discovered brown lines inside the fruit. I was able to use the majority of them, but they are no longer as fresh as they appear. This has been the case with each and every bag I've purchased. I'm disappointed that Amazon Fresh does not offer any organic lime options, so if I want organic, I'll have to buy the bag. Amazon, please give us the option of a single organic lime!.
With my Whole Foods grocery order, I ordered two bags of these. They were nearly rotten, and the ones that didn't have large brown spots on them produced very little juice. br>br>I will never buy perishables online again. br>br>Extremely disappointing, especially considering the price tag of $5 per bag.
I usually buy them fresh, but they were spoiled this time.
They were parched and brittle.
Within a few days, these had gone bad.
Many people have complained that these aren't "Organic" because they don't have seeds. . . Well, here's the deal: Seedless limes are classified as a parthenocarpic fruit, which means that their flowers don't need to be pollinated in order to produce fruit, resulting in no seeds. Seedless limes are a natural occurrence, despite the fact that some fruits are bred to be seedless. br>br>In any case, USE THEM if you don't want them to rot. Organic and non-GMO foods spoil quickly, which is why they are called organic. For a chicken and potato soup, these worked out perfectly.
