My candied lemon and orange peels arrived, and they're perfect for all of my Christmas baking! Their flavors are lovely, and I like that they're pliable and soft enough that they won't chip your teeth when you bake with them because they weren't petrified before being used in baked goods. I've used these delicious peels in fruitcake, German Tea Cookies, and Florentines, and I'm going to dip some in dark chocolate tomorrow as a special holiday treat. When I read another review that claimed they were slimy, I was a little concerned. I can only say that they aren't. They've been candied (boiled in sugar water), so they're citrusy and sweet while still being pliable. It's exactly what you'll need when you're baking!.
These are extremely dry; I was hoping for something more moist, like candied fruit (which is currently unavailable at my local store). The plastic container containing the lemon peels was opened when it arrived in a padded envelope. I'll see what I can do about rehydrating them.
The thin plastic container was crushed, and all of the syrup leaked out, so I gave this product three stars. That gooey mess had to be delivered by my poor mailman. Because there was so little syrup left in the container to keep the product hydrated, I'm afraid it will dry out and crystalize. The product is also VERY SWEET. Instead of candied citrus peels, it tasted like thick, sticky gummy candy.
DISAPPOINTED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT! The package was half open when it arrived, with liquid leaking out. br>TASTE: TASTE: TASTE: TASTE: TASTE: synthetic sugar, for example - look at the label - Preservatives are a good example of this. After reading the reviews, I had a mixed feeling. Second chances, however, are something I believe in. Despite mixed reviews, I've bought a lot of things that have turned out to be good. This is the first time I've been sorely let down. Remove this item from the equation.
Bitter and abrasive - thrown out.
This lemon peel has the texture and flavor that I was looking for in German Stollen and British Christmas cake. Expect a sugar-encrusted candied lemon peel that isn't overly sweet. This is the genuine article.
That isn't the case; they appear slimy and unappealing. The smell hits you in the face when you finally open the package and take a look inside. It reminds me of a cross between knock-off and knock-off. PineSol, rotting fish, and melted plastic The scent is so strong that it makes your eyes water. This is due to the ingredient sulphurous anhydride, which is described as a "toxic gas with a pungent, irritating, and rotten odor" that can cause "potentially life-threatening trouble breathing within minutes of ingestion" in asthmatics. br>br>It's interesting that the company's ingredients aren't listed: Finally, if you decide to taste them, I can assure you that you will detect the toxic sulphurous anhydride, which is utterly revolting! I tossed the entire bag in the trash. Don't squander your time or money on this!.
Tasteful. They're something I order on a regular basis, and they're delicious.
