I decided to get this because I don't have a lot of fresh lemons on hand. I made lemon blueberry muffins the other day and the recipe called for 1/4 cup lemon juice, so I used 1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon lemon powder and mixed it in with my wet ingredients. The muffins smelled wonderful when they came out of the oven, and the flavor was just right: not too strong, not too light. I'm overjoyed that I can now use lemon powder instead of lemons in my recipes.
Even though I used a heaping tablespoon, there was no discernible lemon flavor. To flavor my smoothie, I had no choice but to use real lemons. This item will not be purchased again. The other powders, on the other hand, are the real deal.
It has a pleasant flavor and is precisely what I needed for my teas. It was the ideal size and price for me to give it a try without wasting money if I didn't like it. In general, I am pleased with my purchase. I bought two of these bags. I also appreciate the fact that it only contains three ingredients and no chemicals.
Dressings, water, tea, and other liquids will all benefit from this versatile container.
For my morning smoothies, I needed some lemon powder. It had a great flavor that wasn't too strong. I'm going to purchase it once more.
I tried it as a powder and baked with it. When I tasted the powder, I noticed that it had all of the characteristics of a lemon and honey powder. I got a fragrant peel flavor from the zest, then some sweetness from the honey, sourness, and a slightly pith-like flavor from the sourness. At the end, there's a hint of bitterness. It has the essence of each of its ingredients in spades. It's a little tricky to transfer the powder to something you can bake with because most recipes call for juice or zest. I found that a tablespoon of this worked well in a no-bake cheesecake, but I'm not sure how it would work in a regular cake or muffins. The convenience, as well as the fact that this is a way to add classic lemon flavors without using juice (or adding moisture), appealed to me. I'm thinking of using it in meringue in the future because I don't think the extra moisture would be an issue.
