I was almost going to go with the big bag of Philippine mangoes, but I took a chance on this brand regardless of the cost. I'm glad I did, because it's objectively better in terms of taste and texture. It doesn't feel like they have a sugar coating so much as they just have more sweetness than the regular mango slices. The mango slices are thick and pliable, some as much as a quarter inch thick, with enough moisture left to still be chewy as opposed to hard and dry. There is one review that complains about 27g of sugar, when in reality, 23 of those grams come from the naturally occurring sugar grams in the mango itself, and only 4 grams are For my part, I don't consider that unreasonable. For the record, I've also tried the popular brand of "unsweetened" mango I purchased I could taste and feel roofing shingles in the pieces, as they were shriveled, sharp, and had a texture that reminded me of them. I like both the presentation and taste of the mango, but the only issue I have is that these pieces of fruit stuck together in the individual bags. As you can see, they're basically sticky mango blobs and it's a bit hard to separate them and eat them without getting sticky.
