There is an eco-friendly component to this product as well it comes with a box with a sleeve that can be reused or recycled (my kids created a box house out of it). Dates are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh, which you dispose of after use. Excellent quality, very fresh, no pieces that have been dried.
There are both ingredients and nutrition facts listed on the package. Only "whole organic Medjool Dates" are included in this product.

This update is My typical method for opening dates is to break open the pits with my fingers and remove They are not soft enough so that you can open them So as to remove the pit, I had to bite just a little bit to reach the middle. The dates are wrong by a long shot! The two boxes I have in my home are full of dates with black mold on the inside, so I have thrown them away after they have been spit out. It doesn't really appeal to me how these dates are textured, and I don't like how they're blackened! I have rarely experienced mold in other brands of dates, however it has happened enough times that I always inspect the inside of them before putting them in my mouth. This is the last time I will purchase this item. I couldn't taste any real difference between these and the ones I normally buy. I also had to throw away too many because they were black moldy. However, it is a cute box.
